Phenom 1 yuck. Instead of the GTS 250 get a 5770 or 48701gb.

What did I get wrong though?
You were using Tigerdirect, for one. Newegg usually has much better prices and deals.
You chose an older model of processor to which the new Phenom II's perform better, or in the case I chose, the Athlon II x4.
You chose a PSU from an unreliable brand. Choosing a PSU with a high wattage isn't always necessary. For instance, the 750W you chose is probably as powerful as the 600W I chose, but I chose a reliable brand. Stick to reliable brand PSUs such as Antec, Corsair, OCZ, Coolermaster and Thermaltake.
Do some research on which graphics card to choose, search benchmarks based on the one you're looking at and rival cards which are of a similar price to choose which card is best for your needs.

The only reason I chose TigerDirect is that they have an actual store 15 minutes drive away.
Newegg from what I've heard usually ships fairly quickly.
The shipping costs are what made me kind of shy away from newegg.

Unless you're planning on buying it in-store, it doesn't matter. If buying online, they'll ship it away to a distribution center and then back to you.
Newegg is known for it's fast out-the-door shipping.
