Well im Building a new Computer my price range is 900-1200 CAD for parts http://secure.newegg.ca/WishList/PublicWishDetail.aspx?WishListNumber=9013329 Dose everything work.
I lol'd when I saw GT240 superclocked.
What's the PC for? What's the maximum amount you can spend?
900-1200 CAD im looking for it to run CoD easily although ill be mainly playing source engine games with a little bit of CoD and some L4D
CoD..? Which one? You don't need a 1000 dollar PC to play L4d.

You could get a build based around a 5770 and i5 750 if you're including a monitor.
You could get a build based around a 5770 and i5 750 if you're including a monitor.
This. I have both the i5 750 and the 5770. I get an average of 50 FPS on Very High with the resolution of 1280x1024. Even if you have a larger resolution then that, you should atleast average 30 FPS*. And if you're looking for even higher performance then that, the 5770's very overclockable. *In Crysis, that is.
For Crysis try to get at least a 5850.
For Crysis try to get at least a 5850.
i want to try and go with in the 1100$ range not closer to 1300
For Crysis try to get at least a 5850.
Didn't you read my post? The 5770's perfectly fine.
Didn't you read my post?
Sure I read your post, I just don't agree with it. A 5770 is fine for standard res, medium-high settings with no AA. Now what I'm saying is that if you want to play Crysis then it's nice to get something that can actually play it on V High settings, which the 5770 can't do at reasonable FPS. Don't say it can, it just can't do that.

The 5770 can play it. If OP plays at higher resolutions, then I totally agree with getting a 5850.

[editline]07:20PM[/editline] Also, proof for Ferrus: (Even though I must admit these screens are pretty shitty, they atleast show SOME of my general framerate. And I'll gladly take others in more tense situations, if you like.) Yes, that's the framerate in the upper left corner. Yes. I used Fraps. Why? I forgot the console command, and I'm too much of a lazy faggot to google it. All of them were taken at V.High, 1280x1024 and no AA. I've never tried turning on AA, but something tells me it'll bring it down to it's knees. So, basically, if you want a res higher than 1280x1024 and you also want AA, get something better than the 5770. (5830, 5850. The 5850's the best choice, though.)
You should turn on AA and AF and post pictures just for fun. I'd like to know how many FPS it would kill.
i think you're doing something wrong, I was able to max crysis on my 4670 @ 1280 x 1024 [editline]08:46PM[/editline] iirc with AA on too
i think you're doing something wrong, I was able to max crysis on my 4670 @ 1280 x 1024 [editline]08:46PM[/editline] iirc with AA on too
Hmmm, what model 4670 do you have? And what FPS do you get in TF2? I have a 4670 and it seems to be doing really crappy. Ever since I bought it the performance has been declining. When I first bought it, I was able to max out TF2 at 1400x900 with 50-60FPS with all high settings including maxed AA and AF. I had to take off AA and AF and drop my resolution to 1280 x 1024 just the other day...
sapphire 4670 I know for a fact I was able to max tf2 at 1920 x 1080 at like 60-100fps
It does but don't get it.
why?
why?
Crappy parts.
Crappy parts.
better build 900-1200 Cad?
better build 900-1200 Cad?
Add this to your current build. Case http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119196 Cpu http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819117225 Ram http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231277 Psu http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817341017 Also go with win 7 home premium pro is a waste.
Get this PSU: http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817371030&cm_re=antec_neo-_-17-371-030-_-Product OCZ one is overpriced on Newegg.CA + the Antec is more than adequate.
dose a monitor matter. or is it just preference. ok changed. what else
what ferrus is suggesting downgrading the PSU?
