EQN Landmark really excites me. Really tempted to buy the top founders pack. This looks exactly what I have been after for years.
I might have to get this just for the building.
Everquest Next uses thi guy's voxel engine he coded himself. http://procworld.blogspot.com/2013/08/everquest-next.html
Yo, when I get 99 bucks, I'm getting that trail blazer.
Yo, when I get 99 bucks, I'm getting that trail blazer.
I am holding off just encase they pull the same shit other games have and put the founders packs on sale before it even enters alpha. I don't think they will do this but you never know. Well I will definitely buy trail balzer before the extra bonuses for buying it disappear.
I might have to get this just for the building.
That's more or less all that Landmark is. EQN is for playing, EQN:Landmark is for building.
If you want to know exactly what Landmark is here is a quick quote for you.
Build Anything — Create and build anything you can imagine. With Landmark's state of the art tools, you have unprecedented control over your creations. A range of materials with realistic physics means how you build makes a difference. Explore — Explore massive Landmark worlds and claim territory, building materials and much more. Delve deep into the earth and discover procedurally—generated adventures that will never be the same twice! Make Your Mark — The best buildings players create will become part of Norrath — the EverQuest Next world — FOREVER! We'll run exclusive contests to design parts of the world AND our designers will keep an eye out for the coolest fortresses, castles, caves, treehouses, fireplaces – anything awesome that fits within the world of Norrath. Collect — The rarest resources, objects, gear, character customizations and secrets are scattered across the worlds of Landmark! Can you find everything? Earn Money — Buy and sell items in Player Studio, SOE's marketplace for player-created goods. Design, create and sell items and earn real world cash on every purchase! Click here for more details on Player Studio.
As you can see it is majority just building stuff as it is a creativity kind of game. Now as stated there should end up being cool stuff to collect across the world so some exploration is there as well. Take note your stuff is not going to carry over to EQN.
The items in the packs are exclusive to Landmark. There are no plans for them to transfer to EverQuest Next.
------------------------ EQN is the full game and consists of gameplay like this
Full Destructibility — Everything in EverQuest Next can be destroyed. Destroy the ground beneath your enemy's feet — or crush him under an avalanche you created. The possibilities are endless! Permanent Change — The land of Norrath changes every day, based on the actions of all players... including you. Cities rise and fall, kings live and die, even the gods may change. You won't want to miss a moment of it! A Life of Consequence — Your choices will rule your destiny. Do you save a villager's burning farm or choose to do nothing? Do you clear orc camps away from Qeynos or help them destroy the city? You will make your own story — and shape the story for those who follow you. A Class Revolution — Our character classes are streamlined and designed to be mixed. Want to be a teleporting rogue or a backstabbing barbarian? The choice is yours!
So now you know EQN Landmark and EQN are basically completely different games so try not to get confused.
EQN is a really cool idea, and I can imagine that if left unchecked you're going to get some wacky terrain and weird-ass structures. It'll probably be amazing though if the whole place doesn't resemble Fallout right after the bombs dropped by the end of the first month.
