This is my current build. Honestly, in my opinion, getting a second 5770 was a total waste. Crossfire is not even close to worth it.
I want to transition over the next couple of months to a build with a good Intel CPU and a good Nvidia GPU, and I'm guessing I'll need a new mobo too. Note, I'll collect the parts over a long period of time (as I get the money) and install them all at once.
What parts would you guys recommend?

waste of a thread, come back within a week of buying

buying multiple parts over time is stupid and has no upsides

You don't have to drop $1,000 at a time? Some people have bills and what not to pay you know, right?
you'd still be paying the same amount (if not more) so all that's required is basic self control to stop yourself spending it

it's a concept known as "saving"

you can't use the parts until you have them all anyway so all you're doing is wasting the warranties and fucking yourself over if better options come out

Not necessarily. It just depends on what parts you're buying. For example, if the first thing he were to buy is an Nvidia GPU, he could take out his 5770s and put it in and then take it out when the other parts come in.
OP, what are you going to do with your old parts? I mean, they aren't horrible 5-6 year old parts.
OP, you should get a GTX 560 ti and that's the only upgrade you really need. Your CPU will still blow through most games out today, and your memory is just fine.

nope, 6950 1GB is better. only get the 560 over a 6950 if you can get it for less
if you absolutely want nvidia, go with a GTX 570 if your budget is in the ~$340 range, this one has $40 off:
