I'm throwing a house party on Friday and I've got the usual. A variety of alcohol, beer pong, music, cards, a guy to cook food, and plenty of bedspace.
But I want my party to stand out. You guys know anything that's unique or just fun to have at a party? I want it to be memorable. Better than the rest.
When something crazy happens.
You could add some extra events, like a ''camp''fire in the backyard,
let people request their own music, and when they prefer, let them sing it.
It depends on your home.
Ideally you should have a big living room, or plenty of chairs to sit on, and a huge table for the people to gather around on.
Also music. Music always.
Other than that, I don't know. Hopefully your home is a chill place for a bunch of people to hang. Also if your home is full of art or interesting objects/furniture, then they always make for a good topic every once in a while.
What else.. I guess that's pretty much it. Rest is on you and your pals to make incidents happen throughout the party night.

Make sure to line up a bunch of shots or something to start off, just to get everyone in the mood! To me, music is not that important. Have like a laptop connected to your speakers or something so people can pick a song on YouTube or a playlist or whatever.
Anyway, drinking games are always fun. Trampolines are great too when everyone's piss drunk. And hot tubs. Or you could add a theme to your party too. Like, a slutty pyjama party or have everyone dressed up as rednecks or something. Kinda depends on how many people are coming over and how close friends you are with them though.
Normally when I have parties at my house I'll have a couple of different areas set up. So for instance a more chilled out space away from the music with some couches or set up a table somewhere so people can play whatever drinking games they want. Adds a bit of a variety, I've even had people come up and say that they appreciated it aha.
Depending on how big you're planning it try inviting some people your friends don't really know, or just tell people to bring their friends. In my opinion the most memorable parties are the ones where you meet new people (Bonus points if you invite a bunch of new girls, the guys will love you for this).
One thing me and my mates usually do is have a "goon punch", basically just all pitch in for some cheap boxed wine (it's like $20 for 4 litres, crazy) and just pour it all in a big punch bowl with some juice and let people help themselves. People love free alcohol and an almost endless supply of free nasty wine is a great way to get people drunk and enjoying themselves.
Music selection needs to be on lock too. Just be careful if you have an iPod dock or whatever, I've seen fights break out because of people wanting to play 'their jam' :v:

But yes you are right, today music is so easily accessible. Just like Youtube, and just a smartphone, or a laptop, connected into speakers.

Your party sounds pretty set already man. Make sure that there's plenty of people, and lots of different rooms where people can go chill, dance, or smoke. You've probably got that sorted though.

We always make sure everyone does a shot when everyone gets to the party. My trampoline broke and I'm super pissed about that. I've always wanted to try a theme but I'd be afraid that no one would really stick to it.

I considered doing a campfire out back but I was afraid of what may happen. I myself, being an idiot, stepped in someone's fake fireplace just about a week ago. It was a gas lit fireplace and I had no idea and I just stepped right into because I couldn't see straight. My foot is missing a couple layers of skin. I don't want any funny business with a fire.

At our latest ones it's becoming pretty relaxed (we've done house parties for years now but we've grown up).
