• Good family games for christmas?

Our family's grown a bit due to taking in some foster kids and we need some good games to play over the holidays when we're all on vacation. Video games are fine too, as long as they don't require every person to have a computer (that'd bet awkward between 6 of us, 2 computers max is reasonable). Ideas so far: -trivia games -guess a sketch variants (get a word, have to draw it so people guess it) -board games (not sure which ones, don't think we have any 6 player ones and fuck monopoly) cheesy stuff is totally fine as long as it's fun
Apples to Apples is fun when you have a bunch of people.
Taboo is usually pretty fun.

If board games are up your alley, try Risk if you haven't played it before; it's up to 5 players but I'm sure mom and dad can team up. Basically, it's a game simulating world war, where players try and either take over the whole world, or play by taking over certain objectives. In either case, it's pretty fun and strategic. There's several different varieties out in circulation, but I recommend either Onyx Edition, which is your pretty much your standard version of Risk, but it's the largest board in circulation (and apparently a bit of a collectors item?), or you should get Risk 2210 A.D., which is probably the most unique version in the series (imo). However, if you know all about Risk and whatnot, I guess that small wall of text is useless for you. :v: Other than that, if you have a Wii, Fortune Street is pretty good. Like Monopoly, you buy properties and try to make the most money. However, the game comes with a bazillion boards, so it's never the same game twice. Also, the boards are designed so that you can move in several different directions, so you usually aren't obligated to land on Boardwalk if you don't want to. Hopefully those are good suggestions.
Divekick. It's actually really fun with a lot of people.
LittleBigPlanet, make a Christmas thing.
Monopoly! [sp]I jest, I jest...[/sp] I don't know if it is called something else in english speaking countries, but do you know of a dice game called "Ten thousand"? It is quite fun.
Depends on the ages: Cards against humanity or apples to apples for older kids. Twister is always fun for the little ones. My family always used to have a good time playing Scene It also, plus there are a huge variety of Scene It games, so you'll be able to find one for the crowd you're playing with.
Smash Bros.
Pretty much any Wii title.
Jenga!
