• How much time (if any) does a full-priced game have to last you until it's worth it?

Assuming you enjoy the game and it meets up to your standard of quality, how long should a full-priced priced game be before it's worth it? I would say around 8 hours is pretty acceptable.
Full priced we're talking $60? They're never really worth that to me no matter what, but if I were to get one, it'd need to run me about 50 - 100 hours.

But yeah, I'm talking about ~$60 dollar games and games that originally costed ~$60.
I usually don't buy games unless the amount of hours I'll play is the same as the amount of money I'll pay. So a 60 euro game has to last me 60 hours atleast
i just buy a game that looks neat and if i dont enjoy it then tough luck really
It really depends on the game. I could play a game like Bioshock Infinite for the 10 or so hours of the campaign and fucking love it. Or I can play a game for hundreds of hours, like call of duty or Destiny, and still feel like I haven't gotten my moneys worth.

Problem was, I was earning so much money; getting 4 hours out of a $60 game was profitable by those calculations :v: *Enjoyment time = Gameplay time minus fuck this game time.
If the game is focused on MP i.e Battlefield/CoD, then I say for $60 (or 80 dollars in my country) the game should keep me occupied for ATLEAST 300 hours.

I won't buy a game unless it's likely going to give me a £1 to 1 hour play time ratio at the very least.
1$ = 1 hour of playtime

It's all quality for me. Sure I love it when a game like Skyrim releases and you can get hundreds of hours out of it, but games like Metal Gear Rising are a great example of a shorter $60 game that's still worth the money. It was a great experience from beginning to end, and it would suffer if made into too long of a game.

Well, I don't ever buy games at full-price so there's that. I wait a long-ass time for it to drop in price.
Once I actually get round to buying it I think GTA5 will have been the only game I have payed full price for in the last 4 years, but given that I expect GTA5 Online to give me a good few 100 hours I would say its worth it
Depends on the game. Space Engineers - 252hrs - $15 = 16.8hrs/$1 Banished - 34hrs - $20 = 1.7hrs/$1 Defense Grid 2 - 45hrs - $40 (Kickstarter) = 1.125hrs/$1 Wolfenstein: TNO - 17hrs - $89.95 = 11min/$1 Games with higher replayability have a better value to them but some games are not as replayable as others. For example, Space Engineers has more replayability than Wolfenstein as SE is about building ships and smashing them while Wolf is shooter with set levels. Even tho I didn't play Wolfenstein for a huge amount of hours, I still felt like I got my moneys worth out of it when I played it because I enjoyed the game. I put quite a few hours into Defense Grid 2 considering it is just a tower defense game but I did go for 100% achievements and I also spent time in the map editor making a few maps in it that I did release. I reckon that for any new release full priced game that I should get at a minimum an hour worth of gameplay for every $4 I spend on a game to be worth the purchase price.
Well, CS:S kept me occupied for 1783 hours and I bought it for like 20$ so therefore everygame should have the ratio if 89.15hrs/$1. But really, I kind of stick to the 1$=1 Hour rule. It depends if the game has single player, multiplayer, an end game.
I say £1 = 1 hours worth of gameplay for me. So if I buy a shitty app for £1 I don't care if I don't use it for more than an hour. I don't mind really. At least when it's expensive I want to be able to get 50+ hours out of it. I put 1500+ hours into GTA V so I suppose it's a good thing.
i just buy a game that looks neat and if i dont enjoy it then tough luck really
with that mind set I hope you wait for sale's.
Depends on the price of the game honestly, cuz some games nowadays won't cost more than 10 or 20 dollars on release. Usually I don't mind buying games in that range at full price, regardless of the time they last. for 60 dollars though, it either has to be a game that lasts me a lot of hours, like 60 or so I expect as a minimum from RPG's, or it has to be a game I'm really excited for and have confidence in so I guess for me it's determinant
for a 60 dollar game, I expect at least about 20 hours, usually though I get around a hundred, I'm pretty cautious about getting 60$ games.
I can't remember the last time I bought a game for 60$. Full price to me means more like 40 or 50$. To answer the question: if the game itself is very good I'm ok with it only lasting me 20 hours or so.
£1 an hour as a general rule of thumb for me.
If I enjoyed my time with the game, no matter how short, it was worth it. I don't have any metric.
Full price is only worth it to me when you're playing the game along with everyone else for the first month or so of its launch (or however long the high launch traffic lasts), otherwise 100 hours. I don't think there's a game that I bought a year or two after its release at full price and still felt like l got an awesome value.
Usually I don't buy any games $60 anymore, I most of the time don't have the cash for games like that. I wait until it gets cheaper or some sale happens, unless it's something very good such as GTA 5. I like games that have replayability and can't stand short, single player games.
