Obviously the link I posted the charging station is still connected to a wire because it has to be, but the phone can be moved anywhere as long as it's in distance, so the only thing that it's being tethered by is the range distance, not a wire. I should also point out that the link I posted is what "wireless charging" was set out to be originally, but it wasn't possible at the time so companies made what is now the current solution and called that wireless charging instead

This isn't the first company to try and sell a short range wireless charging system, and given that it's not out yet there's a chance this one could be dead in the water too. Issues with transmitter power regulations killed a few of the VR tracking system attempts as well.

I will remain optimistic, this is one of the biggest things I want right now

when can i get qi pants and a qi chair so I charge my phone when i sit down without taking it out of my pocket

I thought it was pretty clear that conductive charging was not at a distance, you'd assume conductive charging means they need to be touching.

You're better off by saying short/long range wireless charging to distinguish

Alright that's my bad, I've heard it being referred to as conductive charging, but that was the wrong terminology
