TF2.
I remember when steam was released, where many weekends were spent playing Counter Strike on ugly big ass CRT screens. Fuck, i even remember playing counter strike back when it was just a mod, damn i feel old.
I played Garry's Mod 6.something.
I still have my SNES and a copy of super mario all-stars + world when it was brand new. I also played TF2 since around 2008 and still going strong.

Minecraft Man those Indev days were the best....
I played Jedi Academy's multiplayer back in its "prime". Used to be in the now pretty much defunct {P}urple clan that was part of the game's lugormod community. I also was active in the Makermod community. Was basically JKA's version of gMod, where you had to spawn props through the console. The mod had been released so people could load it on their servers, but it lacked many of the cool features that the "Makermod Test" server had. To save a base that you had made there, you invoked a command that saved it to the server, kinda like a very primitive adv dupe. The big downfall was that the files BELONGED to the server; you couldn't have them. Regardless, people built cool shit like giant bases and detailed starships. People used the props in the game in ways you would never think they could be used. Those were "Golden days" of that scene because it all changed when scripting became a thing. You'd basically script out the commands you would put in to build a house, and the script would build it for you autonomously. Scripts were client-made things, so now you could pretty much take a house you built on one server and place it on another. Except nobody did that. Everybody decided to use scripting to make "Ninja scripts", where they would use the game's particle effects (and some well placed entities) to replicate attacks like shurikens, throwing knives, caltrops, etc. It was cool the first few times, but after a while it was all anyone did. Kill each other with those annoying scripts. On another note, I had an xbox live subscription just long enough to be able to enjoy the Halo: Reach beta.
I own one of the first copies of Pokemon Gold
Literally the Golden days.
Neopets like crazy bruh
I remember the launches of shows like Megas XLR and Samurai Jack. On a similar note, not so much a golden age as much as a golden hour: Years back, there was one Halloween where I was sick. My parents didn't want me to infect every kid in a 7 block area by letting me go trick-or-treating, so they had me stay home. They would instead only take my sister and bring a second bucket along so I didn't miss out on candy. Now, this particular Halloween was a big deal for kid's cartoons: it was the tv premiere of the first Scooby Doo movie. Not the live action one. The good one, where for the first time, the zombies were real. Cartoon Network decided to air it in the late afternoon / early night, when every other kid would be out trick or treating. Not me, though. I got to see the first televised run of the first Scooby Doo movie, in the comfort of my own home, while not missing out on Halloween candy. That shit was great.
I remember when the internet became mainstream. AOL olden days, dial-up. Fun times.
Runescape 2 and Habbo hotel around 2003, also MyCoke if anyone remembers
I played Diablo when I was 5.
Videogames: Wario land 3, Mario Land 6 Golden Coins, Pokémon Yellow, The original Wipeout, Croc, Klonoa, A lof of the EU demo discs that came from playstation magazines. Early Internet: Runescape 2, Neopets, Battleon (Adventure Quest), Platform Racer on Kongregate, Classic YouTube and the early days of Newgrounds, when steam used to be very green-ish, had an xfire account too. Found out about Weebl's stuff back in school around 2005-6 by typing random addresses into the address bar in firefox (badgerbadgerbadger.com was one of them, same goes for rathergood.com). I pretty much started using the internet via an old Mac OS 9 machine while AOL and dialup was still the main form of connectivity in the area I lived. More recent Internet: Minecraft classic (used to play with friends back at the start of 2010), Used to stream on Justin.tv before they opened up Twitch. There's a lot more but I think there's a lot of stuff that hasn't aged very well.
ive been on roblox since 2007 n00bs
I joined roblox in 2006 myself
Been on YouTube since 2006
Soul Calibur 3 had a campaign based gamemode where the first custom character you make becomes a main protagonist. It was a lot of fun leading a squad of custom characters in said gamemode, I even made Link from Zelda but without his iconic hat.
i got an n64 when it first released
The golden years of International Ragnarok Online and unofficially translated RPG Maker 2k/2k3. Back when RO was about mindlessly killing monsters and collecting hats and hat quest materials and EVERYONE thought their crudely done fan games were going to be hot shit.
Being just barely old enough to appreciate how amazing games on the N64 like Ocarina of Time, Banjo-Kazooie, and Super Mario 64 were.
I was on neopets in '99 hence the end of my name. I really fucking regret keeping the 99 now though since everyone probably thinks I'm a kid.
I remember getting famous on Roblox for building airplanes
There was a point in my life where Dunkaroos actually tasted like graham crackers.
