Im planning to crossfire my 6970 soon and i was wondering if a 1055T @3.3GHZ will bottleneck with the GPUs. I googled and couldn't find any definitive results
yes

...what?
That link is totally unrelated.
@OP, it won't bottleneck.

uh
you're seriously trying to say one of the most underpowered CPUs on the market isn't going to bottleneck one of the most powerful GPU configurations? yeah ok

Aren't almost all games GPU bound though?

your point?

That his CPU won't bottleneck it a lot.
That his CPU won't bottleneck it a lot.
the 1055T is basically the worst possible CPU you could buy at the moment (for a gaming computer) to play games on
it doesn't matter what game it is, it absolutely will bottleneck and he will lose frames
however, the severity will depend on the game/engine; in Battlefield 3 he will suffer a significant drop in frames at resolutions below 2560x1600, in anything on the Source engine he will lose a gargantuan chunk of frames, with any large-scale multiplayer games he will also lose frames (includes CoD even though it isn't very large scale), as well as on any Bethesda games or games where there is a lot of shit going on (RTS).
simply put, the 1055T is a piece of shit for gaming and nearly every other CPU in that price range outdoes it for said purpose
the only games I can think of where it won't bottleneck as much are Metro 2033 and Crysis (only if he's really, really pushing both of them)
@op: if the outcome of this thread decides whether you buy a second 6970 or not, don't take what I'm saying as "don't get another 6970, upgrade your CPU", because you'll definitely notice a bigger improvement in performance with CF 6970 rather than single 6970 with an i5 2500K or something

I have a 2500k, but I have to say you are completely wrong.
I have a 2500k, but I have to say you are completely wrong.
prove it
prove it
I don't have a 2500k and think you're wrong. Can you prove it?
I have a 1055t overclocked to 3.5ghz on stock voltage, and am running crossfire HD 6950's I can tell you now I have not come across a bottleneck yet my cpu usage never hits 100% most I seen is 80% in BF3, also my FPS nearly doubles in games.
you don't "notice" a bottleneck, you compare your min, avg, and max framerate with that of similar computers running different CPUs
I guarantee a 2500K runs games much better than a 1055T with CF 6970s
I've a Phenom II x6, run GTA 4 TBoGT maxed out... no bottleneck with my 30 FPS mate.

It's not a bottleneck.. its just a better CPU.
Well from reading the replies i think i may go ahead and do it
I've a Phenom II x6, run GTA 4 TBoGT maxed out... no bottleneck with my 30 FPS mate.
No shit. GTA is CPU dependent.

The 2500k is 220$ while the 1055T is 149$ good job comparing.
And if you look here, you can see the 1055 performs exactly in its pricerange.
http://www.tomshardware.com/charts/desktop-cpu-charts-2010/Cinebench-11.5-Multi-threaded,2407.html
Now the AMD 1055T is slower then the 2500K but its more then fast enough to not bottleneck annything.

You prove your statements to please.

Sorry, you're wrong. Yeah, the 1055T is fast enough to run virtually any game out there, but that doesn't bottleneck anything. How redundant it may be to talk about it, as you'll probably get more FPS than you're screen can output anyway with CF 6970 and a 1055T in almost any game (and those where you won't will probably be eyefinity (thus being the GPUs bottlenecking you)), but the 1055T will still be a bottleneck. Sure you may not see a difference in FPS as you'll probably have Vsync on, but the 1055T is still a bottleneck, how redundant it might be to talk about.
Odellus is very well aware of this, if you read all of his posts.

I see no evidence supporting your claims other than your own opinion, which is known for being biased and foolish.
