Sup y'all
Wanna get a new CPU as mine is kinda underwhelming
I have a AMD FX-6300 hex core @ 3.5
I have about $140 USD (It's in CAD so I'm using google to translate it)
Not sure if this is enough for an upgrade but I can sell my current cpu for some cash.
Any suggestions?
AMD Zen is coming soon. I'd wait for that. Otherwise perhaps look into an i7?
What do you use the computer for?

Everything, gaming mostly tho.
CSGO is the game I play the most, which is pretty CPU based.
Also, I don't think I can use an Intel CPU without replacing my mobo cuz of the socket or w/e
If you're stuck with AM3+ as a motherboard, then the strongest is an FX 9590. ~$300 Canadian
$140 isn't going to get much in terms of a stronger CPU currently. And if you switch from the AM3+ boards, you'll need a new Motherboard as well.

Alright, thanks bud. I guess I'll save my cash then.
Even a modern i3 runs circles around your current processor, especially in games running on Source, such as CS:GO.
Save up around 300 dollars and you're able to get yourself a massive upgrade

What GPU do you have?

That would involve a much larger upgrade than OP probably has in mind considering you would have to get a motherboard compatible with the CPU you want, and depending on the Motherboard, you may have to get new RAM if the frequency or pin-DIMM is incompatible. On top of that, you would need to reinstall your operating system so that it has all the correct drivers per the motherboard, though a Windows® reset may do the job but I haven't tried it myself.
