Since yesterday, Steam has refused to start up, constantly giving me this message http://puu.sh/16xL8 I thought it was because of maintenance or something, but this is still going on and I've tried nearly every method of fixing it. Reinstalling it does nothing, and pretty much everything that's listed on the Steam help page hasn't worked. I haven't installed anything recently that would affect Steam in any way.
You've deleted the clientregistry.blob file?
You've deleted the clientregistry.blob file?
Yes. It did nothing
Had this problem quite often. If it doesn't launch, end the steam.exe process, launch it again and do it a few more times. If not working yet, try to restart your PC, and if that doesn't work, reset/restart your internet connection.
Yeah I deleted everything except for steam.exe and the steamapps folder, then gave my computer a reboot. It worked, but the next day, it decided to be a bitch again. The above method didn't work this time.

Yeah, that's probably our reason right there. You're gonna have to just wait.
Blows that I can't even get into offline mode. I'll see if I can login by tonight. Can't login still.
Do you have any proxies enabled in Internet Explorer?
I have no proxies enabled. Also problem is still going.
It's probably genuinely down. I leave my rig on 24/7 with steam running so I'm not seeing that on login but I have had steam friends go dark about 940569230695930678240956905 times today alone. Additionally, Steam Friends has been flickering on and off pretty regularly all week. Mobile too. Torchlight 2 just launched, mind. So I'd bet that's what's behind it. Big releases always tend to bring Steam to it's knees in some way or another.
I'm starting to find this hard to believe, seeing as this has being going on for 4 days.
Bump. Tried to forwarding my ports BOTH manually and using Simple Port Forwarding. No luck. Edit: Turns out Windows Firewall, for some retarded reason, had the Steam Content Server on their block list (derp). I unblocked it and now it seems to be working as normal. Not sure if this is a permanent fix, but we'll see. Next day, seems to be working okay.
