My desktop I recently upgraded with a new graphics card requires 1GB DDR2 RAM. The problem is that I have only 1GB of RAM in my desktop. whenever i would try to load something like counter strike or team fortress 2,, It would take forever or never receive server info. Along with crap fps at that.
The only games I can play are left 4 dead 2 and alien swarm surprisingly.
So what I want to know if purchasing another GB of RAM would solve the problem with retrieving server info/etc.
what card is it?
Trust me, since going from 1gb ram to 4gb ram the difference is astounding! tf2 loads really damn quick now, and it doesn't stay on sending client info for like 5 minutes like it used to.
It's a good idea to upgrade to at least 2GB for gaming, more than that isn't really necessary in most cases.
You don't really need a large amount of ram for gaming.
4GB is enough, ram has advanced a lot more than predicted.

It still does that to me and I got 4GB Corsair. It isn't really 5 minutes though, more like 15 seconds.
Graphics cards have their own RAM...

2GBs is just fine for gaming.
I've got 2GBs DDR2 and a 5750 1GB. Games run perfectly.
