Not a good sign.
This doesn't bode well...
Fear of criticism, perhaps?
Yes, fail to get the one thing that can guarantee sales going for your SKU.
BioWare Quality™: Manveer's literally too busy screaming at a social justice con to get core game design principles out of the gate, please stand by.

Always. If it was so good that a test wasn't necessary then the test would have been great marketing, like a demo, getting people hyped and excited and to show off how great all the work they've put into it is.
And after advertising the beta for a while, to say No nevermind? Yeah that doesn't pass the smell test. It shows a lack of confidence in their product
Aw man, after seeing those animations and all that other character stuff Bioware's gotten so bad at the multiplayer was the last thing left for me to be excited about
I doubt anyone would even give a shit about Mass Effect Multiplayer
Lol, so much wrong.
ME3MP sales are the reason there's an AndDramaDuh at all.
I doubt anyone would even give a shit about Mass Effect Multiplayer
On the contrary, it's pretty much the thing I'm most hopeful for in the game. I have to imagine a ton of people feel the same.
ME3's multiplayer was actually fucking great. Probably better than the main game.

ME3's multiplayer was more fun and more popular than the single player
And I agree. I've got 90 hours played in ME3 and I never played the single player past mars
Man, this game's just been sounding worse and worse as of late.
A shame, too, ME coulda used a good shot in the arm.
I mean, who didn't see this coming?
The early access period begins in just under two weeks, where we'll be able to test a small portion of the campaign and the entirety of the multiplayer.
It's so shit they wont even let us look at it, even if they carefully selected maps LMAO.
God this game is going to be an abortion

EA Access players get to try it 2 weeks early for free, so your statement really doesn't make any sense.
Considering how many people are only looking at Andromeda for the multiplayer, I have to wonder what chain of events lead to this terrible decision.

The MP is fun sure, but really?

Yes, really, ME3 MP was fucking great, the free update DLCs helped a lot as well.
While this choice isn't the best I've seen in terms of marketing, it must be said.
They're still letting people play during PAX East and allowing you to play early via EA/Origin Access for 10 hours. While it is time locked, to my knowledge it is not content locked.
So frankly, when the developers insist it was due to a lack of time on Twitter, I am more inclined to give them that small benefit of doubt.

That would be the constant crashing when assigning xp/upgrades decision.

While it seems sorta weird and even "suspicious" to cancel the MP beta now, I'm also inclined to give them that small benefit due to the EA Access thing. Now if they cancel that, too, then it'll start to feel real fishy.
Also most of the previews we've seen, although none having any MP mentions, are talking about the game in a really positive manner. I find it hard to believe the MP would really be all that shit if the core gameplay works well and they already had a pretty suitable, not to mention well-liked, model for it. Unless they did really big changes they're not talking about, or BioWare somehow managed to fuck up the networking on Frostbite real bad, I can't really see it being a huge stinker.
According to one of their producers (Fernando Melo), apparently they did a lot of external user testing already and EA probably decided it wasn't worth spending the money to set up the whole beta infrastructure for PS4 and Xbox One again this shortly before launch. Can kinda understand that but they shouldn't have announced it then or backed out of it to make people unsure about it.
Regardless, for those of you interested, some Twitter info on Multiplayer:

You can't customise their faces nor names, but there is an unknown amount of customisation of their armour.
It's probably not a good sign that as i was browsing the faces in that pic "Mad World" immediately came to mind.
Mass Effect is one of my favorite game series of all time. I have every DLC, every game, even the mobile one.
I pre-ordered Andromeda because I refuse to let go of the memories I had growing up with these games through young adulthood. I want to support it because I have an ever-closing fear that they will stop making them.
It's like watching your mother slowly fade from dementia.
