It's good to see that critics actually are acknowledging the faults with the game, i sort of expected they'd just all praise it and give it high marks regardless because of the hype.
The faults people are listing are exactly what I was worried about, and worry about for any game with "procedural generation" as a selling point. This line from videogamedunkey's review describes exactly the experience I was expecting:
The first two hours of the game were amazing, I was completely entranced by the world, and the music, and the creatures, but as you sink your teeth into the game, you realize it's a lot of flash and barely any substance.
I dunno, despite all the letdown and stuff, I still feel I want to give it a try. I'm sure it's still fun in some way.
Watching all the backlash is kind of eye openning as to why people dislike it. But it made me, in the end, buy it. It just looks like the game that I would enjoy.
It's a $20 Tech Demo. They should charge $20 for it, then release expansions for $15 or $20 until its a complete game, and stop charging once they've hit $60-$70
