Sweet.
Not surprising seeing as the 3DS needed the DSi to transfer purchases
Sounds like a good idea; imagine the rage of a Wii player with many games if they'd need to repurchase their games on Wii U. Good that there's the option.
Oh god what will it do to hacked wii's I'm curious
Oh god what will it do to hacked wii's I'm curious
It will probably require the latest update in order to do this. Unless if someone can crack that update successfully, it will just probably just brick the Wii.
Oh well I only have like 4 VC games anyways, which I can just use the wii for
It will probably require the latest update in order to do this. It was update 4.3 and there is already a disc-less hack for it. Since a hacked 4.3 Wii operates the same as a normal Wii, then I imagine that the transfer will act no differently. Unless you mean will it transfer the Homebrew Channel, in which case, it won't. More than likely, it will check the Wii, and your shop channel ID, and transfer your purchases over, as they are associated with your id.

So it shouldn't fuck anything up.
That's strange, I thought that virtual console games were linked to accounts.
Sweet, HD Muscle March here I come.
That's strange, I thought that virtual console games were linked to accounts.
Wii had a godawful online system that was a code assigned to the console box itself. I am hoping the Wii U has a competent and organized online system this time around.
That's strange, I thought that virtual console games were linked to accounts.
3DS Virtual Console games were post-release. They are trying to phase the old out and bring in the new.
That's strange, I thought that virtual console games were linked to accounts.
This is the result of bad future proofing. The Wii just uses console specific keys for everything, rather than stuff that might be networked.
What about the locked savegames like Smash Bros Brawl?
What about the locked savegames like Smash Bros Brawl?
I'm wondering the same thing. Having to pay off your 1.3mil debt to Tom Nook again would be a pain in the ass.
Oh hell yes, N64 games in HD. Now if only they could remove the issue of everything being more expensive for Australians for absolutely no reason.
What about the locked savegames like Smash Bros Brawl?
Oh fuck if you can transfer it this will actually help me out a lot, I have one of these Wiis that can't read games like Smash Bros Brawl anymore and my near 100% save has been sitting here for years now.
The Wii-U is sounding better and better every day.
Now if only they could remove the issue of everything being more expensive for Australians for absolutely no reason.
And for Europeans too
The Wii-U is sounding better and better every day.
I'll be getting it for sure once Pikmin 3 comes out. The promise of more great games on the horizon is too great. The possibility of Metroid Prime 4, that new Zelda game, the new SSB. It's shaping up to be a good console.
Wait, you can transfer DSi purchases to the 3DS? I never knew this!
