While looking in to a budget rig with a friend, I realized that I really don't know much about north bridges. Let's talk about them and compare some. Z75 vs. H77? Edit: "2" isn't "7" [editline]16th June 2012[/editline] http://www.pugetsystems.com/blog/2012/04/12/z68-z77-and-h77-whats-the-difference/ tl;dr: H77 is basically the same as Z77, without as much, if any, overclocking support.
The Z77 chipset motherboards cost more, but you may want to go with it depending on what you are doing with the computer. If you are just doing general office type stuff and searching the internet then save a substantial amount of money going with the H77 chipset motherboards. That being said, if find a great deal on a motherboard, then go for the Z77 chipset which has everything that the gamer, photoshopper, or video editor would need.
