Hey there. This isn't an extremely usual request, but in one of the rooms of my house I have a unique setup where I simply cannot have surround sound, bookshelf speakers, or even a sound bar. So, I'm looking for a television that's 45-55 inches, and has good (comparatively good, anyway) built-in speakers. It doesn't have to be particularly thin, and it doesn't have to be particularly cheap, but it has to have some decent sound. I know it's possible, I've managed to find the right TV before, but I'm not sure what's on the market nowadays in this niche field.
samsung models are generally quite decent sounding.

Checking it out, but damn, their website is hard to navigate... Doesn't help that their TVs only have numbers, not names, which makes it tough to find reviews for the different kinds.

Use Amazon?

That's just the thing... I can't find reviews that include sound quality. I know it's all crap compared to a speaker setup, but that just isn't an option here, so I need to know which crap is the least crappy.
I find the sound for the Sony Bravia to be pretty good. It could do with a bit more bass though.

But saying that, I probably have an older model and they could have put in a better sub in the newer models.
I've never experienced problems with the in built speakers of TV's ever.

Exactly! My old TV was a Bravia, and it has amazing sound, but most new flat-screens just aren't good enough for movies. The Bravia line doesn't exist anymore, though, so I have no idea which Sony TVs still sound good. I know their 4K ones are toted for their awesome speakers, but I don't really want to pay for 4K when I don't need it.

How new is your newest TV? They're getting too damn thin now, there's no "oomph" and any amount of bass causes the whole thing to rattle.
Our new Samsung smart TV has great sound for it being so thin. Its even better than our
previous Samsung 40" LCD TV.
But I don't know how it sounds when its
on it's stand. We have ir installed on a static
wall bracket.
I've never been that big on which TV brand is better but i love my Sansui TV that i got recently, although that might just be because the last TV i had was from the 70's and had no remote.
Any old bulky TV you find at Goodwill is likely going to have better sound than that rattling piece of shit plasma TV you get at Best Buy. The sound system that most TV's nowadays come with is a joke, it's meant to be something you just make do with until you set up your speaker system.
I went to a demo of Bose VideoWave II which was pretty damn great.
