• Weird problem with my monitor/GPU

Hey guys. Last night I was lying in bed, watching Friends on my computer, when I got tired and wanted to sleep, I pressed the power button on the computer, and it closed down normally as when you press start -> shut down, no biggie. Then I started up the computer today, and some weird boot up screen that hasnt been there before shows up, and when I get into windows, the resolution is 640x480. I tried (re)installing the drivers for my GPU, I tried uninstalling and installing again, I checked windows update, still 640x480. Then I tried unplugging the computer, and taking out the flat battery inside for a couple of minutes (that used to work with my old computer), and it helped a bit, because now I'm running 1280x1024, but the letters are very blurry and unsharp. This fucking sucks, cause my monitors "native" resolution is 1680x1050. I have no clue what happened, does anybody have a suggestion on what to do?
I assume you tried to change it manually in the display settings?
Yes ofcourse, lol
Have you tryed putting a new card in and testing it?
I don't have another card unfortunately :frown:
Bump, some help would be appreciated. I don't think the problem's with my GPU, rather my monitor. My computer says something about it's a standard non-pnp monitor. So my monitor is working, but it's not showing the resolution it should. 1600x1200 is the maximum, and that's not even something this can run.
