Hi guys, i need a CPU fan for my AMD Phenom x4 955 CPU, my motherboard is a Asrock Alifexfire esata 2 Im looking for a cpu cooler that can be installed without removing the motherboard from the case and it needs to flow the air out of the case via the back casefan. My budget is around 30 Euro. Greetings Edit : just a thing, would be cool to switch the fans (if this has better cooling performance) And i don't care about the sound im wearing headphones all the time and hear screaming kids via skype, just care about the cooling (AMD)
hyper 212+ or 212 evo if the price difference is small
hyper 212+ or 212 evo if the price difference is small
yeah but i heard it has it own backplate, does that mean i have to get my motherboard out of my case? And im btw not sure if it fits in my case
they're the best coolers for this price range by a long way so you're just going to have to suck it up and spend the extra 20 minutes it takes to remove and reinstall the mobo if you have a small case then you should have mentioned it in the OP if it has a 120mm back exhaust fan then there's no problem

Because i never changed something on my PC before, my dad does it all i dont want to damage anything :p and i dont think he wants to spend some more 30 minutes removing everything from the motherboard etc.
Hyper 212+ is worth it. Or, just set up a crackpot setup like mine and open the case up and install over 9000 case fans. Nah, just kidding. But you could always buy the fan and take it to a PC repair shop to have them do it.

First i have to try to fix my other fan, using a Samurai ZZ but idle is already like 52c, think it is not placed good on the CPU.
Just get a 212+ and some AS5/MX4 thermal goo, the 212 instructions explain everything you need.
212 is definitely what you want, i've got one on my 955 and it idles 1c above room temperature, even during the summer
A massive bump, i didnt want to make a new topic again. I finnaly found the problem why my CPU is getting so hot, my Power supply is above my CPU heatsink, and my power supply sucks much cold air from the heatsink plates that is supposed to go to the CPU. It there any way to prevent that the power supply is stealing the CPU supposed air? Or is there a cpu fan? Here is what i mean

My cpu idles and loads at 50 - + celcius Btw, im using an AM2+ Motherboard now with a Samurai ZZ cooler, is there any diffrence in performance between an AM2+ DDR2 motherboard and a AM3 DDR3 motherboard? And i can't run games like saints row and GTA 4 on the highest settings, GTA 4 not even on Medium and barely on low, i know it's a bad port but my CPU needs to handle it, my GPU is a HD 6870 Here a pic
Bump, please can someone help me i hate this :7
so get new thermal paste and reapply it
It has already some Artic silver thermal paste, also re added when i had this problem, still 50c
Another bump, is it possible to move this to the Hardware section and not Technical support, to get more views? :<
It has already some Artic silver thermal paste, also re added when i had this problem, still 50c
Don't constantly re-apply thermal paste, especially not stuff like AS5 that has a 200-hour break in period. Do it right once. It's really not that hard to install a 212+/evo, shit only goes in/out one way
I got this fan from my dad, he used it too on the same CPU and he had high temps too, but he also has like the same airflow as me. Could it be the airflow or just the fan that isnt working properly? Also im gonna ask if he can put the default headsink on it, see if that gonna work out. And i tried to gun GTA 4, now on the lowest settings but i have the same frames as i get at high settings.
Chances are its just a shitty hs/fan, not to mention the 955 ru.s relatively hot
Im gonna buy a Hyper TX3 Evo, already got some plans for good airflow :D
Im gonna buy a Hyper TX3 Evo, already got some plans for good airflow :D
Thats stupid, we tell you to get a hyper 212 and instead you are going to buy another piece of shit.
The TX3 is a waste of money, go with the 212
The 212 doesnt fit in my case, and if it does i have to get my motherboard out and reinstall everything again and that will take a long time
It takes like 10 minutes and what case do you have?
It takes like 10 minutes and what case do you have?
MS-Tech LC-10
the hyper 212 is 159mm tall and you case is 180mm thats 20mm of space, and its x20 better than the shitty KX3
Hmm, imma think about it. But how much more cooler is the 212 than the TX3 Evo? And what is better, 212 plus or evo. And i need the one that is cooling the most, im not planning for overclocking edit: Just one thing, what is the smartest way to place it? Here a pic : Another edit : My dad already purchased the TX3 :l But what is the best way to place it?

Look at this diagram
Yeah, that pic is nice but i dont have any front or sidepanel fans... Only 1 hole in the back for a 80/92mm fan and my PSU up in the case
Yeah, that pic is nice but i dont have any front or sidepanel fans... And get a better case FFS, for $60 you could have a really freaking nice case with REALLY nice airflow compared to that shit. And will you have to take everything apart? Yes you will but it will be worth it. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119233&Tpk=HAF%20912
