• $1200-1500 NZD build

Hi, I've just received my holiday payout from work and now I'm looking to replace my old upgraded optiplex 755 (2.8Ghz Core2Duo, 2x4Gb DDR2 and low profile 430 GT) with a brand new PC, the thing is I need a little help with optimizing my price ratio. I would just like to leave a few notes before I paste my current ideal build so far: - I live in New Zealand, and most websites I see being posted by members here (Newegg for example) won't ship here (I could be wrong, they go as far as Australia when I checked). An NZ website I used for finding parts is Pricespy, and I'll provide a screenshot of the same build at the end of this post. - I'm dead set on the case, and I also realize that I'm sacrificing the optical drive bay which isn't a big deal for me. - The PSU may seem overkill for the total draw of the build, but I am planning on purchasing another video card to run SLi down the line. - I created this thread to gather opinions on how I could scale back the costs while preserving the performance given by these parts. - I can provide the monitor, mouse, keyboard and OS myself, hence why they are omitted from the final price. There's a NZ version of pcpp, but idk how good it is. It lists the price at 1423 for this build without the case or psu. Don't get caviar black, get barracuda. You'll need an aftermarket cooler like the evo if you want to overclock the 4670k. Otherwise it's a good build. Idk how much space you use but 2tb is sort of overkill depending on what you use the computer for. A 1tb + 120gb ssd might be a better option.
I've just had some friends suggest to me the HDD+SSD combo as well, so I'll factor that into my final build. The reason why I have that 2TB HDD is, well... I kinda eat up space. [t]http://i.cubeupload.com/68OmaS.png[/t] + another 1TB. I'll also replace that drive for a barracuda, would you have any suggestions for a reliable SSD brand? It's been a couple of years since I last looked into making a PC and it was around that time when they weren't all that reliable iirc. On the subject of the cooler, I'm not planning on overclocking the build anytime soon, I've chosen those parts as a safety measure for when I do want to overclock down the line. I will look into obtaining an aftermarket cooler when that time comes. Thanks for your post, I appreciate it.
840 evo definitely. Damn son what do you have on those drives?
Many uncompressed .psd files, raw video game footage, backed up blu-ray movies and shows, backed up games and misc stuff, I like to have a lot of choice in case I'm ever without the net. Anyways thanks for your input, I'm sufficiently satisfied with this build for now but I'll leave this thread open for anyone else to throw their suggestions at me for a day or two before I close it.
