Every time i enter a facepunch thread with a lot of pictures my router stops working, really anoying. It says that im connected to the internet but if i try to search anything trough my browser it says that im not conneted to internet. And the only way to get my internet back is to replug the power cable of my router, it like resets it or something. Any idieas ?
Get a different one?
This a new or long term problem?
It might be driver related. Or router frimeware...
Also, what model of router is it?
What the guy above me said.
It might be driver related.
How could a driver do this. Well actually, I suppose I could see it if the networking drivers were bugged, but I doubt that is the issue.
philips SNB5600
Connecting by wireless or wired connection? How old is the router, and have you always had this problem?
Wired, just got it last year and it was always like this.
Wired, just got it last year and it was always like this.
Do you still have warranty? And why didn't you return it?
Nope :(
Seems a bit like a wireless card I got for my sisters' PC. It worked fine, but if you tried doing extremely bandwidth intensive stuff like streaming HD movie from my computer it gave up and disconnected for a while, but I didn't mind because it was a value-brand one anyway. My suggestion would be to get another, better router. Well i guess i will have to get a new one. Also could you suggest some good routers ?
Well i guess i will have to get a new one. Also could you suggest some good routers ?
I have an ASUS WL-520GU on it's way to me at the moment. Going to stick on this tomato mod here so I can use it as a print server.
My old one just kinda crapped out every once in a while. Resetting it worked, but I was much better off just to buy a new one. I'm using this one, I think its great.: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833124364&Tpk=wrt54gs2
