am i reading a review or a fanfiction
Weapons start to lose their durability rapidly, and one big fight can see an entire inventory smashed to pieces. Worse, repairs are limited. A weapon can only be repaired so many times before it becomes completely useless, making it pointless to invest time and money into weapons that might soon be lost. I don’t think the mechanic has been thought through at all, as evidenced by the fact that you can not only equip completely broken weapons, but you can use hard-to-find upgrades on them, too, wasting them.
I just skimmed through the review to find some keywords and this bugs me. More and more reviewers point it out and I think the game handles it fine. Level up your durability/crafting and weapons last a fuck load of time. And if they don't. you find so many weapons, SO MANY, and usually if you keep progressing you find MUCH better melee weapons, that you often throw away the ones you have because they aren't worth it. That description of the repair system honestly sounds like the first.. 3 hours of the game. I actually wonder how much time they put into it.
Blades, on the other hand, cut through everything like air, and are entirely unsatisfying.
I completely disagree. The SSSSHIINNGG as you slice through a neck or arm is incredibly nice.
Even after levelling up countless times, stamina decreases rapidly in combat, making attacks as deadly as a soft caress.
If you craft your weapons, you probably will never run out of combat stamina. it's honestly rare that I run out because I don't just whack the zombies nonstop. You walk backwards timing your strikes. Anything else is basically a waste of time. I find it hard to run out of combat stamina. Sounds like the reviewer played a demo or something.
if you run out of stamina you're probably shit at the game because stamina regenerates extremely fast if you don't use it and on top of that sprinting, kicking, jumping and vaulting don't use any stamina and power striking doesn't deplete stamina, using weak weapons doesn't help either
My 1000+ damage longsword is so damn satisfying to use, cuts infected clean in half. If it doesn't kill them, than they sure as shit are going to be bursting into flames while being electrocuted due to the mods I put on it.

I posted in the megathread, but even my 220 damage machete electrified can slice a zombie directly in half as one half of it spazzes out from the electricity. How is that not satisfying...
This is one of the greatest zombie horror games made. Next to Dead Rising, which is similar in terms of fun. I rather prefer this than Warz/Dayz zombie style games.
Gets a 9/10 from me, I love it.
Dying Light is a surprising hit for me. Side quests are fun, main quest is paced in a way I feel very enjoyable too. Parkour is really well done, best one I've seen in an fps. Combat is meaty, dynamic and tense.
