It got posted because FP's news node is subbed to their RSS feed. It's not selective posting. On the subject of making an article about it, because they want people who follow them to be informed of what they are doing? This seems like a good use of time and resources on their part to make more people participate in the AMA.

Literally all they did was promote their AMA. This isn't worth getting annoyed over. And this isn't the type of article people are annoyed by either.
