See the problem here is that all these things take time to develop and that's not something Ubisoft is willing to allocate in their development cycle for Assassins Creed games. You can't make a new 'revolutionary' game every year, it's just not possible. Hell, it's more than difficult enough to make an adequate game every year.
Somehow, I think even by doing that, they'd still fail, since we'll get AC games forever and ever. That WILL bore people eventually.
wait, there's a new assassin's creed announced? already? the last one was like, a few months ago

One thing Assasins Creed Syndicate Needs: More development time
Honestly, aside from the last suggestion these are not that far-fetched. They're right about those lame UPlay features and some of their design decisions like cosmetic gear items (best looking ones, imo, offered the worst stats in comparison) were probably a mistake. I hope Ubisoft does learn a thing or two from some of the biggest gripes people had with Unity. Unity was a test bed. Syndicate should show us what a polished game should look like when built on Unity's foundation.
There's two. I suppose they figured that one a year just isn't enough.
At least Chronicles: China seems pretty neat and original. The miniseries looks like a test bed to see how people react to new ideas and settings, so if it's well received we should expect Ubi to push out a big AC: China soon enough.
What AC Syndicate needs is to not be an AC game. It should be a gang game, like Black Flag should have been just a pirate game. Piracy and gang fights do not play into social stealth.
Not exist.

Unity was mostly done by another team entirely from what I heard
Pretty sure Unity also had years of development time, that didn't stop it being a pile of wank.
I'm just picking up on people acting like the only problem with Assassins Creed is it's short dev cycle. It's average dev cycle. That's not the reason it's shit. A hideously broken engine not being rebuilt is why it's shit.
I think the problem with the AC games is that they don't make you feel like an actual assassin, and more like a pawn that goes from A to B, sometimes hiding in plain sight, in order to kill some bad guy. Really, at least in the AC games up to 4, the standard gameplay sequence was something like this: Go and speak to A, find B, kill B, escape. And the more varied missions were usually pretty tedious, and that's a shame, because an open world game like Assassin's Creed should have countless options in order to allow you to be, you know, like an assassin.

I used to cringe at the reactions on those "OMG GTA V IS IN DEVELOPMENT AND GTA 4 ISN'T OUT YET" headlines.
