• XP user interface failure

I accidentally moved the GTGina.dll file that controls logging in different users because i wanted to replace it with the .dll that allows you to quick switch. Now every time I turn on the computer i get past the XP loading screen and then I get "user interface failure". Now I know that I can fix this problem by connecting another hdd with xp that works fine, booting from that and then copying/move the original file to where it should be, but the hdd with the working version of xp is on an IDE drive and the windows desktop only has SATA connectors, otherwise my house has mac desktops and windows laptops. Also the manufacturer did not give us an installation disc, but we do have the recovery disc. Any help on how to solve this problem would be helpful.
use the recovery disk.
usb stick/linux livecd
k im currently using the recovery disc, though tat livecd option sounds better for future troubles
