Hello Internet, This past month I have been attempting to access thepiratebay (thepiratebay.org) For some reason, whenever I attempt to access this site firefox (and chrome) give me this error message: I know its up because all of my friends can access it. Is anyone else having this problem or how do i solve it?
Your ISP may have blocked it. I know very little about this stuff, but that's what I'm guessing, seening as it's been in the news alot for being "bad".
CTRL + F5 . Looks like a cache problem.
It works fine for me, I have Verizon FiOS, though. Try a proxy?

have you doing there anyway?
have you doing there anyway?
Downloading free mods. OP, but you can access the website through a proxy, right? http://www.daveproxy.co.uk/
Downloading free mods.
you wont get ip ban just for legit download.
Or you could try using OpenDNS.
Or you could try using OpenDNS.
And as a added bonus, Opendns can be configured to protect against phising sites :)
I use OpenDNS, and haven't been happier.
HEZZYYYYYYY! NINJIA IS LOOKING FOR WAREZ!
He could just be looking to download some animes. FREE ANIMES, THAT IS. :ninja:
:cawg:
yeah i'm downloading mods. the definition might vary to what you think it is unless you think....umm btw, yes the proxy worked. openDNS worked for a while for me before that but then stopped working. I don't like how it gives you their search engine if you don't type a proper url
I'd use OpenDNS but it has the stupid deal where it doesn't return NXDOMAIN. 4.2.2.1 supremacy.
I'd use OpenDNS but it has the stupid deal where it doesn't return NXDOMAIN. 4.2.2.1 supremacy.
Yeah gotta hate that... (the hell's nxdomain?)
NXDOMAIN = domain doesn't exist. This is what your ISP's DNS server should return when you reach a page like www.asdisjdigudjgiusdjgiuserhyijrh.com However, some ISPs instead return the ip of an advertisement page, which means if you rely on NXDOMAIN to see if the domain is valid, your program will act as if it was valid. It makes application debugging harder and some things can break (some VPNs)
Aaah. I see, that must be why I come up with all those generic search engines. Stupid supercorporations...
