Sup, Firstly, recently my RAM usage has skyrocketed. Once it used to simply sit at around 1-10% usage, but now it is at a whopping 70-80% usage. I believe this is hurting games performance. Also, the same is happening with my CPU. It used to hover at very low usage, but now it goes up to 20-30% at a time. I used to be able to run some games at 120+ FPS, or a comfortable speed. Now I can barely run those games at 30. This may be an entirely different problem, but I would like to solve the first one, first. Specs: Windows Vista Intel Quad Core 2.33ghz 4 gigs ram Nvidia GTX 250
Have you ruled out over heating?
I have no way of measuring heat.
Download speedfan, it can tell you the various temps on your chips and HDD GPU etc. Overheating can cause slowdowns and it can make sense if you think about it since you made it sound like it happened overtime. Usually can be resolved by dusting out the case with a can of air duster. Don't use an air compressor or a vacuum. Holy shit my computer is major overheating. According to this thing, everything except the HDD and the system are overheating. Everything is like 80-90C. So after I dust it, should I leave it off for a long time to let it cool? I mean this thing is almost able to boil water.
Clean the fuck outta it.

Another thing you may want to do replace the thermal paste on your CPU's heatsink. That can help make a MAJOR differance. Also make sure all of your fans are running.
Dust off your shit and re apply thermal paste on your CPU. If that fails, might as well use it to its full potential and cook things.
I opened it up and placed a covered cup of water inside. Its starting to boil, gonna shut down now, gotta go buy thermal paste, air dusters, and clean the fucker.

[editline]25th May 2011[/editline] I know you probably thought of this already but when you go to remove the heat sink, make sure its had enough time to cool. Copper can sometimes stay hot for a while.
Speedfan is shit, DL HWMonitor. Also, Did you alaready dust your PC ?
Speedfan is just fine for getting temps. No need to get a second program thats going to tell you the same thing.
Speedfan is just fine for getting temps. Thats ridiculous. I have Speedfan and HWmonitor running side by side. Same temps.
I have returned. SO much dust, literally an inch layer on everything. Put some more thermal paste on the CPU. CPU now idles at 0-10, RAM still sits at 35-40%. Temps are down an average of 45 degrees. Everything is normalized. Hopefully my games run faster.
That peice of shit doesnt even remotely get the temps right
It's impossible for Speedfan and HW Monitor to get different readings, they both get their readings from the same device on the LPC bus.
