Looking for a new build for Christmas, only problem is I have never built a computer before haha

My whole family is pretty technology savvy, but not entirely experienced in PC building. I've been given an $800 dollar budget (I'm allowed to go a little over if needed) to build a new PC from the ground up. I already have a fine monitor and keyboard, all I need is the case and everything for inside of it haha. If someone could point me in the direction of maybe a list of things I need, and the best recommendations for the best valued components it would be greatly appreciated, thank you in advance!

Case/PSU:http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.761493
Max almost everything out right now at at least 60fps at 1920x1080
all together $773.94 and $45 of mail in rebates.
You could probably switch the case/psu if you plan on doing crossfire in the future, I don't think the psu has 4 PCIe connectors.

I forgot about hard drives
HDD:http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822152185&Tpk=spinpoint%20f3
now $924 minus 45 mail in is 879.
Shit.
You can replace the GPU with this:http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150573
Now 819 and $55 mail in.
It won't max everything out at 60fps, but it will most things. The obvious example is Battlefield 3, at least for the time being.
It'll max most things out at 60fps though.
You can always go $80 cheaper for a non modular PSU but I already had that in my cart.
