Just reformatted my computer and re-installed Quicktime, but all the videos play as if they have a pink overlay, I tried a codec pack but it didn't work and i've fixed this problem in the past but can't remember how, anybody have any ideas?

Are you running the latest version of Quicktime?
Try this:
Uninstall Quicktime. Install the newest graphics drivers. Install a codec pack, I use K-lite Codec Pack Full. Then install Quicktime.
Yeah sometimes DivX videos are pink, I don't know why but a restart usually works.
