• Problems with YouTube player

For a while now, at least since the start of this year, I've had some issues with the YouTube player. My problem is a bit hard to describe, and thus I've had a hard time searching for fixes or information about it. Basically, there seems to be two different "types" of YouTube players that I am presented with when I go to watch a video. Both contain the same functions and abilities as each other. For instance, after the new update, the quality, annotations, etc. have been allocated to a single settings button. The appearance and function of the YouTube player is completely fine and consistent when not in fullscreen. However, when I switch to fullscreen, problems start to appear. For many of the videos I watch, the players seems normal, and will appear like this: Normal video player However, some videos will show the fullscreen message near the top of the screen instead of in the middle, and with a white box around it: Problem video player These are the videos that are problematic for me. I have so far been unable to predict whether a video will be one or the other. Both different "types" of player seem to be used at random and by various different uploaders. Now while the appearance of a simple fullscreen message isn't a problem by itself, there are other issues I am facing. In this second "type" of YouTube player, the loading bar at the bottom and the video title bar at the top will constantly reappear over and over again throughout the video. It will consistently pop up in 4 second intervals. The position of my mouse does nothing to change this. It can be at the bottom of the screen, right in the middle, at the top, at the sides, anywhere and it does not affect the loading bar from constantly reappearing. Furthermore, the mouse icon itself will never disappear from the screen as it normally should. This does not have any effect on the loading bar reappearing, though movement of the mouse will instantly cause it to appear, as it does in the "normal" player. The video has been playing for a while, and the loading bar and title bar have reappeared even though I had my mouse all the way to the bottom left of the screen and had not moved it. The mouse icon persists even though the video has been playing for a while. Another, minor but intriguing issue is related to the various buttons used to play or pause the video, change to fullscreen, mute, etc. For some reason, the pressing of these buttons causes a dotted box to appear around the button. This box will persist even when exiting fullscreen. It has the effect of rendering the spacebar play/pause function useless because apparently if the box is there, it means that the button it is around is the button that is selected. For example, if I click the fullscreen button, the little box will appear. If I then press the spacebar to pause the video, the video will not pause. Instead, the video will exit fullscreen. However, if the last button I clicked on was the play button, the box will appear there, and the spacebar will in fact play/pause the video. A small, white dotted box appears around the fullscreen button when pressed. Use of the spacebar will now activate the fullscreen button. The same box will appear around the play/pause button if it is pressed. Use of the spacebar will now play/pause the video. If I double click the actual screen of the video in order to fullscreen it, no dotted box will appear and the spacebar performs normally. However, the same problems with the loading bar will occur. I have searched for others with the same problem for a while and I've only been able to find some sporadic posts on Yahoo Answers and other similar sites. I'm not sure if I'm actually experiencing a problem even, maybe I'm just being oversensitive to something that everyone experiences. I am just looking for any information into these apparent two different "types" of YouTube players. Any and all help is appreciated.
