• Prototype resolution problem

bought prototype a few days ago and I'm having some issues, I can't choose a resolution higher than 1280x720 (According to a few websites, the game restricts people with less than 512mb VRAM to that resolution and low graphics) Now I'm running a fairly decent PC atm and It should run the game with no problem Specs: Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU 860 @ 2.80GHz (8 CPUs), ~2.8GHz Memory: 6144MB RAM Card name: ATI Radeon HD 5570 Native Mode: 1920 x 1080(p) (60.000Hz)
No, the 5570 is not good, and afaik prototype is pretty demanding. Considering it runs l4d maximum settings with 4x aa at 47fps (1680x1050) I wouldn't even bother trying to run prototype at 1920x1080

And I don't care if I max it or not, I just want to play it on 1920x1080 even it that forces me to go low settings. Edit: according to the steam forums, people with 6950s have this problem aswell so I doubt its my card.
Usually these kind of settings are stored in an ini file?
Usually these kind of settings are stored in an ini file?
Yes, But there is no Ini file as far as I can see, I've looked both in hidden folders and in my documents folder "prototype" with no avail.
the problem is most likely with the card. everything in this computer is more than enough for this game EXCEPT for this card. if you like you can tell us your budget for a graphics card (I reccomend somewhere between 100$ and 150$) and we can link you a good one if you so choose.
