Garry have you thought about shipping BASS with Gmod? It would only cost your 200 euros to purchase a shareware license (works for commercial products also that cost 10 euros or less), includes both Windows and OSX.
Or you could write your own module that provides better support for sounds, cheaper but takes more time.

Any Source engine game. Gmod is sold with Counter Strike: Source for people who don't have any Source games, and it used to be sold with TF2 as well. It might even be playable standalone now that TF2 is F2P.

TF2 doesn't include the SDK base.

Not the SDK base, only Source SDK which allows you to make custom maps. In order to play mods you still have to own another Source game.
From EP2, which does include the SDK base:

Oh, I see. I only said that because I remember seeing a thread on here a while back saying how people who owned TF2 F2P would now be able to play mods.

So I probably only misheard.
I like the beta so far, although I'm waiting for release so I can find some more mature community.
Every server I find is filled with like 1-2 people trying to build something and the rest spamming the chat/voice or use obnoxious thrusters and trails to annoy people.
Also, I think I missed a news post or something, but did you remove the possibility to decide what game mounts first? Couldn't find it when I played last time.
