It's still illegal for them to pirate. This doesn't grant them any exemptions from the law.

If piracy of stuff online was legal then there would be no point in making it.
Why do people make stuff? For money.
Why money? To enjoy their life, and not pirate things.
They are for file sharing first. Sharing illegally is illegal obviously.
It's not about finding new ways of obtaining illegal stuff.
Plus, some people believe illegal file sharing is good because it forces the industries involved to finally offer alternatives.
