Wow, now that's some next-generation effects work right there. Physics/Fluid simulation is hopefully going to be a big thing now and I think that'll open a lot of avenues for visuals and gameplay mechanics.
People will probably say "oh big deal PC has always been more powerful this is nothing new" but the fact of the matter is the PC is nowhere as big of a platform for AAA EXCLUSIVES (not talking about indie games or ports) that would make a push for new technological developments as viable. So yeah, this is really neat.
This is good news, because they'll always develop for the lowest common denominator.
This tech demo would be cool if any of that tech was in the game so far.

Meh. I doubt those "next gen" boxes will be all that impressive when the time actually comes to show real shit and not carefully rendered scenes meant to be impressive hype pushers that aren't sustainable on them.

Anyone who expected anything else is extremely naive. It's been the same story for every console announcement (doesn't stop people from buying into it, sadly).

The stuff shown on the tech demo will probably only be possible in a few years when developers become more comfortable with next-gen tech. But even that isn't a sure thing.

it could straight up be an ipad version or something
legend of grimrock looked better
tbh while the fluid simulation definitely looks cooler in some regards, a billboard solution with actual physics would probably look better in that T-intersection scene, the low fidelity of the simulation really makes the simulation look silly
