• Mouse Problems - Hardware / Software?

My mouse, Logitech G5, sometimes stops working. The cursor stops and mouse isn't turned on (no lights). I cannot predict if or when it happens, some days it is just normal, while other times it disconnects/connects all the time. The fix is to wiggle the mouse a little and wait a little. I'm thinking loose wire, it has been used a lot, but before trashing it; Is there any way it could be software? AND How can I tell? Thanks in advance [editline]05:15PM[/editline] Vista Home Premium, sorry
try changing the solenoids
Thanks for the input, but... What is a solenoid and how do I change it?
There isn't a solenoid in you mouse. It's probably a loose connection.
It's probably a loose connection.

Has your wire been tampered with?
I'm leaning towards this. The wire looks weird, where it goes into the mouse. It looks twisted, and sits loose. Could I maybe cut the wire, open the mouse and connect the cut-off wire to where the old wire is placed? (Some where inside the mouse)
depends if your willing to potentially destroy your mouse
depends if your willing to potentially destroy your mouse
Well, if I have to get a new one (which I will get, 'cause this fucking sucks right now) it wouldn't really matter if I broke this one more. If it works --> Good If it doesn't work --> New If I don't try --> New Update: So, I opened it and cut the wire before and after the twisted part of it (which I later cut open and found 1 wire which was "broken"). Then I put the 4 wires inside it (USB) together again and put the whole thing back together. And now..... It works! Hooray! Good job finally some one with the balls to fix it themselves.
Thanks man, still working and haven't had the problem yet, so I must've done something right ;)
