Upon waking up from hibernation, the system BSoDs - this is all the information i can provide right now, as i only just disabled the automatic reboot after BSODing, so i need to get a picture still. This started after i had closed my laptop in a hurry with Dwarf Fortress running, but i don't see how doing that would cause much problems. Let me close my laptop, check to see if it BSODs again, and if it does i'll edit this post. EDIT: Well, punch me in the nuts and call me shirley. Just closed it and opened it again, no BSOD yet (unlike the results of my previous test). I think my laptop just trolled me. Either way, i got my first scare of the new decade.
It was probably because you did it while running a CPU intense game.
Well, i only had DF running during the initial incident. during the first test, all i had running was Chrome. i tried to reproduce the results again after that, and nothing happened. Still, it was my fault for not mentioning that in the first place. Edit: :/ Edit: now the laptop doesn't get past the HP splash. Fuck.
After some quick searching through MSDN: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff558949(v=vs.85).aspx Parameter 1 is C0000047 which is an access violation, by the looks of the length of the parameters its a 64 bit laptop
This indicates that an exception happened while executing a routine that transitions from non-privileged code to privileged code.
This can be pretty much anything, try booting into safemode [editline]1st January 2011[/editline] If that doesnt work, get your windows disk out and get into the recovery prompt, throw in: chkdsk C: /f if that returns any errors, well shit, but it disables the bad sectors on the drive and fixes the file table up
