• GTX 680. PNY vs ZOTAC vs MSI

I'm buying a GTX 680, but I cant decide what brand to get it from.... I can get it for 499€ from PNY, ZOTAC and MSI. GIGABYTE and ASUS are 40€ more expensive, while POINT OF VIEW costs a whole 100€ more, and none of them are overclocked... What are your experiences with the 3 brands PNY ZOTAC MSI? How's support and build quality?
Get one from EVGA. They have a great support and warranty.
LOL. If I didnt include EVGA there's probably a reason for it. The shop I'm buying all my components from doesent have EVGA cards.
I have always had a bias towards MSi when it comes to GPU's.
Out of those 3, MSI. If at all possible, EVGA over everything nVidia.
Out of those, the MSI hands down.
Gotta say, MSI GPUs tend to be really, really nice. But PNY have a good track record as well from what I remember.
So ZOTAC are bad I assume?
not bad, just not as good of quality as MSI. i personally would never buy one. i'm stubborn with EVGA..

If you really want one of these three: MSI > PNY > Zotac
In Italy everything costs more
Zotac cards tends to have really shitty thermal paste jobs; they use way too much so it oozes out and dries and cracks
How is ASUS?
Zotac cards tends to have really shitty thermal paste jobs; they use way too much so it oozes out and dries and cracks
they're all pretty sub par, I always reapply thermal paste with a new card. It takes like 5 minutes and from my experience lowers temps up to like 10c.

Those pads are fucking evil when they've been used (the one on my Phenom II x4 955 heatsink set like cement and ripped the CPU from the socket when I was removing it, thankfully the latch was off).
Basically, all the standard GTX680 cards are the reference cards sent from Nvidia, have the logo of the company slapped onto it and sold at roughly the same price. Some have optional OC'ing software pre-installed, but it's all fluff and can easily be replaced or downloaded later. Just shop around for the best warranty times/policies and price.
