I'm going to be building a gaming computer for myself soon and I need some help choosing components, it's been a while since I've done this. I have a budget of £1200 (which includes a new monitor up to 20" and a copy of Windows 7, but not including a keyboard, mouse or speakers).
I'm going to be taking this to LAN parties, so if possible it would be nice to have a chassis with a handle. I'm looking to run these sorts of games (at high or max) - Crysis (1/2), Source games, Battlefield 3 once it comes out, GTA IV, Supreme commander, WoW. This computer is going to have to do me for a while so I'd appreciate a decent graphics card.
Two extra things - if possible can you guys please include a 3m Ethernet cable and an estimated price of delivery of the components (possibly included in the total price?). Keep in mind I'm in the UK, so I can't afford to have things shipped internationally.
Thank you in advance, I'd really appreciate it.
Wait for Sandy Bridge

I'm not entirely sure if the PSU can handle a second GTX 570. Can another builder verify this?
You can use the extra 100 for:
1) Better case
2) An SSD (what I would get)
3) Windows 7 Retail
4) Bigger Monitor
5) Better RAM (not really worth it in my opinion)
The PSU can definitely handle even SLI'd GTX 570s easily.
For the extra money, you should get the HAF 922 case, as it's a good amount better than the CM690 case.

Thank you very much, this looks like an excellent build. One question though, would it be worth swtiching the GTX 570 to a HD 6970?

No because I don't think you can Crossfire ATi cards in an Intel motherboard (well without some work in the BIOS and stuff, which is not worth it in my opinion).

Welcome to Facepunch
I forgot about that, I'll go with the 570 so I can upgrade to SLI later on if need be. Thanks again.

uh no intel boards have no restrictions on multiple cards (other than pci-e slot physical/electrical restrictions)
most amd boards won't let you SLi though, only the ones with an nvidia chipset

Oh sorry. Learn new things everyday. I'd still rather get the GTX 570 since it's not much more than the 6970 and performs a lot better in some games.

I thought the GTX 570 was $30 or so less?
