My grandma is getting a new TV. She wants to just mount it on the wall, and not have the satellite receiver sitting there. She wants to accomplish this by having a second IR receiver on the TV which runs to the satellite receiver in a nearby closet. Does anybody know how to so this and associated cost, or maybe a better way? If I'm not clear, I'm sorry. I'm just not sure how to explain this quite right.

about the only way you'd be able to do it is a IR repeater, but the cables for that aren't super super long
You could buy an IR repeater.
That's possible. The whole reason she wants to do this is because my aunt has her whole hose set up where TVs on the top and middle floors have their receivers in the basement.
Z wave could maybe work. I don't know too much about it though.
