My laptop has 4 GB of RAM, but there is only a few hundred MB are free. Is there any way I can clear some of my RAM?

It's been making TF2 lag really bad
I doubt that, seeing as I have no problem at all with TF2 with 2GB RAM

The cached memory (the 1966mb) is all memory that will be released when needed.. so no worries
Ram usage is fine. Anything that you would use up windows will start releasing some of it. Post specs.

You should rather look for a culprit elsewhere, the ram doesn't really seem like the issue
Also, since when is TF2 lagging? It could be because of an update that raised system requirements (okay not exactly, just made it more demanding). Just try lowering AA or other settings and it will be better
You aren't using extraordinary amounts of RAM. That's about what I'm using idle with very close to the same specs and I'm experiencing no trouble.

What resolution are you playing at? If you're trying to max TF2 with AA and everything at 1680x1050 with a 4650, that would be your problem.
