Hey guys my current spec is:
Cpu: i7 2600
Mainboard: Asus p8z77 v lx
Gpu: Gtx 560Ti (Died recently)
8GB Ram
Gx 750Watt Bronze power supply.
And i've been thinking about upgrading my gpu to gtx 1050ti. But i heard newer graphic cards like gtx 10 series doesnt perform well like it should on old components like mine (2nd gen cpu and old motherboard). So i was wondering did anyone experience something like latest graphic cards performing bad with old cpu/motherboard/components? Is it true? Will gtx 1050ti work just fine with full performance on my pc?
You should be fine. [del]Your motherboard supports PCIE 3.0, [/del]The power supply should be more than enough, and GTX 1050 Ti is not the most high-end card so there probably will not be a huge amount of bottlenecking by the CPU.

Thanks for the fast reply! Ive been non stop f5-ing hah! Okay then i guess ill get that gtx 1050 ti soon :D
agreed, power is enough, cpu is good enough and even if your mobo supported pcie 2.0 it would still be sufficient
I'm using a GTX 1060 with an i5-2500k, albeit heavily overclocked. Works fine even in VR
NOTE Only with Ivy Bridge is it 3.0 otherwise 2.0 but even 2.0 at 16x is well plenty.
Yes, forgot that the motherboard is Ivy Bridge compatible but the CPU is Sandy Bridge, thank you for adding that. But yes it should not be that bad even on PCIE 2.0, once again there is not that much to be bottlenecked because the GTX 1050 Ti is not very high-end anyways.

Thanks for the reply! Good to know :)
Yeah the 1050ti isn't a great buy tbh. Get a 470/480 or 1060.

Sandy Bridge chips and PCIe 3.0 depend on the stepping.

Im on a low budget, so gtx 1050ti will do for me
A 470 is a better buy in that case

to be fair, its just under a 970 in power
but a 970 is still a good card even then so I mean
but then again either way a 1050 is a HUGE upgrade to your old card so :v:

I would go with AMD in this case
Nvidia is great but nvidia and budget doesn't really work out.

Ok i never used amd card before and have no idea bout what 970 is. Can you link me to the specification?

AMD cards get the luxury of being miners when retired. Nvidia cards are shit for this. Its a niche purpose, but at least your [AMD] cards can make you money.
Also please note the specs are for the reference design. Most GPUs are tweaked by the OEM (IE: xfx, msi, asus).
Anywho, Nvidia 970 Spec
On the AMD end, there is the RX480 which will do just well w/ a budget-minded upgrade.

Thanks for links! But rx480 looks out of my budget.
I am using a EVGA 1060 3Gb with an 10 year old AMD processor and can still max every game at 1080p with 60+ FPS so you will be good to go.

Even the GTX1060 is at the RX480 pricepoint (perhaps a bit higher in the US market). At this point, I would recommend saving up a few more shekels and going with a card around the $200 mark (or the equivlency in your country) and going with the 1060 and the 480. The 1050Ti is around $140, while the RX480 you can get as low as $160-180.
If you're not in any hurry, you can always keep an eye out on sales on previous generation cards. I picked up a 7870 refirb for $100 and its still working and quite good at what it does.

Thanks for the tip! But i think ill stick with nvidia since i live in Mongolia and nvidia is more popular than amd and i already got my gtx1050ti thanks for the tips! Anyways is it ok that my screen blinked black for like 3 times real quick then it went normal? It happened after i installed my gpu and i was downloading the driver, not installing any gpu driver

Probably Windows 10 trying to install a GPU driver of it's own. If it doesn't reoccur I wouldn't worry about it.

I thought so too! My OS is win10. Thanks for replying!

As a person using a GTX 970 (MSI) and an overclocked 1090T (could only get to 3.8-3.9Ghz otherwise the voltage required to be stable is ridiculous) - this is incredibly hard to believe.
Unless you're running Ryzen in that system of yours (which is impossible so I'm guessing Phenom x4, or x6 like mine), the CPU will bottleneck the GPU most of the time (especially in 1440p for me) and even for 1080p Ryzen starts to croak in some games (although that may be due to lack of optimisation).
