Getting a new PC for Xmas, Want some help deciding

Hi, Im looking for a computer to great for gaming but, im not so great when it comes to hardware so... yeah. I want it to be able to run Modern Warfare 2 and other next-gen games and be highly upgradable, with great performance for online play and other stuff like that. I would also LOVE for it to be able to support a server my freinds can join. Looking to spend about one thousand dollars for it. Any and all suggestions and help highly appreciated.
Build it.

Im not good with electronics and i really don't have the time
It'll be way cheaper if you build it.
And it's really easy.
Some screwing, and plugging in, and it only takes like 30 minutes to hook everything up.
5 if you're good.

Oh boy, here we go again.
Another thread where someone wants a super awesome-o computer for gaymen but they "can't" build it because they're "too lazy" or "my parents won't let me" or "I don't have enough time"

If you can do Legos you can build a computer. It's not difficult.

It takes over 5 minutes to unpackage the stuff =0
If your going to wait till christmas, i suggest you post a bit later (about november) as pricing and technology can change really damn fast.
There are also tons of tutorials online.

It's pretty simple. The RAM goes where the RAM slots are, etc.

Okay then, thanks!

Nope. Just do some research about all the components so you can familiarize yourself with the inside of a computer and you should have no problems. Just know the basic parts like the motherboard, graphics card, CPU, RAM, HDD, etc.
Ninja'd
Now look what you did he's gonna get confused.
He's going to need a place to get the parts.
Unless he's magic and can just shit them out of his ass.

That gives him 3 months to learn about decent brands, what to buy etc.
man what religion are you in that has christmas at this time of year
Juse read the manuals, take care of the pieces, and if you think something isn't going to work, double check for incompatibilities or missing pieces. Or just pay some tech to build you computer, if you're willing to pay.
It's really easy, most things nowadays don't even fit if you are doing it wrong, thus making it easier then legos.
