I already ordered it, but I want to get the opinions of people.
Intel Core 2 Duo @ 2.93GHz (1066FSB 2MB L2)
Nvidia GeForce 9800 GT @ 512MB
4GB Kingston RAM (2GB x 2)
500GB HDD SATA
2 DVD/CD+R drives (both can read/write DVD's and CD's)
Windows Vista Home Premium (32-bit)
I've heard some great things about the parts in this build. The Core 2 Duo is supposedly one of the top of the line dual-cores.
Sounds like you got yourself a prebuilt.
It's aight.
[editline]04:16PM[/editline]
How much was it?
How much did you spend?
I would have gone with a quad core.
If it was more than 500 quid you got scammed.

What CPU is that?
Should have purchased a 4850 instead of the 9800GT.
Why'd you get 32-bit Vista with 4GB of RAM?

Lol, OP got scammed on the CPU. It has a 1066 FSB which is what the older series of C2D's had.
Also, 4850-9800GT, the difference is so tiny it doesn't even matter, unless the games he plays prefer one of the brands.
Yeah, seemed like an E6XXX to me.
And no, the 4850 destroys the 9800GT.
Lemme grab some benches.

I can find more.
Not to mention the 4850 costs less to boot.
that is a laptop
Laptop with two optical drives?
:raise:
[editline]02:59PM[/editline]
According to this datasheet (look on page 22), OP's CPU is probably an EX6800.
Who the fuck would buy that new today?
[editline]03:00PM[/editline]
Oh, and Intel's 2.93GHz laptop CPU, the T9800, has a 1066MHz FSB but also 6MB of L2 cache.

It's a desktop, retards.
It's an E7500.
Nope, the E7500 has 3MB of L2 cache.
I like being able to say "Yeah I've got 12MB of L2 cache."

I looked in the User's Manual. It's an E7500. Perhaps I got my info wrong (which I did)
Where did you buy this from?
Where did you buy this from?
What does that mean?
It means where did you purchase the computer.
you got ripped off
Bestbuy?
Not an Alienware.
Definitely not an Alienware. I'm not made of money. It's a Dell. Cost somewhere around 800 dollars.
Don't get Dell unless you'd hate to save money by upgrading rather than buying a new PC, Dell love to make their shit propriety so you can only buy overpriced shitty quality replacements from them
You got ripped off.
or shouldn't have gotten Dell

ughhh
You're lucky we don't have facepalm anymore.
[editline]02:49AM[/editline]
You probably could have gotten a Q9550 and a 4870 in there if you built it.

Or a 940 and a GTX 275, and so on and so forth.
Just pointing out the OP could have done a lot better.
