Of course not
Of course not
Why not? What would stop you?

[editline]10th May 2016[/editline] Assume you have infinite ammo, a modern military tank and an m-16.
You will be vastly outnumbered and I'm pretty sure the combined might of everyone trying to stop you will eventually get you killed. Also, it still takes more than 1 person to operate a tank. In the open, you're bound to get shot by somebody, and the tank can only go so far.
Why not? What would stop you?
You'd need to get out for food eventually. Plus they could probably just dig a bunch of trenches to fuck you over.
OK how about a platoon of marines with a tank in their ranks and a fighter jet with 2 avaliable pilots.
Where does the jet land and refuel/rearm?
OK how about a platoon of marines with a tank in their ranks and a fighter jet with 2 avaliable pilots.
Now you're changing the original scenario. Nobody lives forever. The platoon of Modern-day Marines: Eventually picked off because they're in the open, outnumbered considering you're fighting EVERYONE in a world domination run. Jets can only fly for so long, fuel is limited, ammo is limited and goes by very fast. Pythagoras offered the Trench idea, which is entirely valid.
OK how about a platoon of marines with a tank in their ranks and a fighter jet with 2 avaliable pilots.
there's no base to supply them, no materials for maintenance...What's the point of this exercise? [Editline]Edited:[/editline] not to mention the 'colonial period' could be over four hundred years depending on perspective, and there are several dozen models of 'modern military tank' across the globe. If you want specific answers you're gonna need to be a lot more specific about the parameters here

well you could sell them
Your tank will also run out of necessary resources (fuel and [del]shells[/del]). And I don't presume that one person is capable of manufacturing [del]shells[/del] and fuel. In other words, you're fucked
