Ive been having some problems with games and videos. I am just on the verge of sending off my graphics card when I had a thought, could this be my CPU (or anything else) ?
I wont bother saying why I think it could be the CPU, but I just want to be sure before I send off my card.
Heres the problem:

BC2 (The resolution is lower because I was testing if it makes a difference, it does, slightly better on lower)

Youtube (The problem goes if I turn it to 240p and gets worse if I turn it up)

So, is it possible that this could be caused by my CPU? Its a AMD Phenom II 965 @ 3.4ghz (stock everything, never overclocked)
Thanks
I'd say that is RAM or GPU problem, test your RAM with Memtest86 there's installer which you can put on your USB memory stick if your motherboard has the ability to boot from USB memory stick but otherwise you can burn it on CD.
Well just packaging up the card now then :(
If it was the cpu you wouldn't be able to start windows let alone a game.
It shouldn't be your CPU, that really should only give you lag problems on the whole computer if it was faulty. Jjudging from the screen shot, my moneys on the GPU.
Yeah more than likely a GPU problem due to artifacting. Any CPU problems will result in boot loops, BSODs, or will result in a 'brick'. Where it won't boot to anything at all.

:v:
You can have an unstable CPU and still boot into windows, it wouldn't do this, though.
It your card. Unless you are somehow playing on the igp in sandy bridge processors
Judging by the pics, its your graphics card. Try swapping it out with an older one and see what happens.

If anyone here lives on Launch Pad, i've landed there for the night. Don't be alarmed when you see that ship on your tarmac.
...lol wrong thread...
Unfortunately I dont have any card I can swap it with. So I'm sending it back.
A friend of mine said that its most likely because of a problem with the cards memory? Anyone got any views on that?

It could be any number of things. No way to really tell whats the matter with it, sometimes overheating can do permanent damage, sometimes its a little bit of a static shock you may have given it when you last touched it. It's anyones guess.

Yeah, well as far as I know, nothing at all changed when the problem came on. I left it at the desktop, went away for about 30 mins and when I came back, the problem was there. Anyway I should get a reason from scan once they have a look at it.
