should make a TellTale TellTale game that tells the tale about how TellTale got shit
[editline]18th December 2014[/editline]
they seriously seem to be grabbing any possible license they can get and throwing TWD gameplay on it. It's only a matter of time before they start getting boring.
I want to wait until I see how the game will play and look (apart from the obvious) and such before properly judging it just based on its concept.
[del]Why is Minecraft still a thing. Why won't it just die already.[/del] I love Minecraft and I hope it never goes away.
it will probably be the GoT game but everything reskinned to be mc
(i) Remember that silence is a valid option
But seriously? God dammit Telltale, Season 2 of TWD was a pretty lousy game IMO, but now they're making/made 4 games exactly like it
Seems like I'm the only one who's really curious about how this'll turn out.

its been dead for a while now, just beating a dead horse with a stick really.
"why is a game i dont like because its popular still a thing"

It's not that, Minecraft is the last thing you would make a point-and-click adventure game about. There is no story, or characters other than mindless monsters and players (who could be anything). How well do you think a Telltale Garry's Mod game would sell? What about a Telltale minesweeper game? There would have to be so much additional writing that they would be better off creating their own universe for the story. I don't hate Minecraft, but there are some games that should not cross over to certain genres.
Anything to get kids interested in point and click games please.

It's worth noting that stories within the Minecraft universe aren't a new thing. Barnes & Noble sells a bunch of published Minecraft books. (taken from this tweet)

It's still weird, but it has been done. I'm curious to see how Telltale manages it.

Dead??
What world are you living in. The game is still thriving with players.
he means having fun as a veteran player has been dead; the game started sucking in november 2011 with the beta 1.8 update and then full release
I'd comment shit on this to be honest, but the reality that my own fanboy heart's episodic game set there's a much less forgiving future.
Let this generation have their nostalgia.
still no sam n max season 4
I miss the old days of beta when you pretty much built the SP experience that you wanted using mods. Mo creatures, grapple hooks and zepplin mod made for a really cool adventuring experience for one world I had, while better than wolves and redpower made this really cool valley base I had.
Just seems like the creators are trying to make every playstyle presented by these mods something that everyone can and will do, which just isnt practical at all. It was looking like SMP would have a really nice politics and co operation thing going on with different players specializing in different fields such as redstone programming, horse and animal breeding, farming, dungeon raiding etc
In fact we had back in the early days programmed a bukkit based RP system that revolved around this concept, where we had a very functional economy(which I broke to point out a flaw we had made.). We designed the system around one concept: only add to gameplay, never limit. Using basic Bukkit plugins we managed to make a stable RP that still held basic gameplay mechanics. Different players could do their different playstyles with a boost for their specialty. Farmers got more crops per harvest and a multiplant system, miners got more ores per block and slightly better tool durability, adventurers got hookshot and some mobility mods, lumberjacks got timberrr and blacksmiths could repair tools. Everyone could do what everyone else could, but everyone got an advantage in something that made them a viable option for others to pay.
It worked beautifully until the server got shut down due to 1.6.
The game went to shit with whatever update brought in hunger.
My very first world wouldn't have had nearly the same start if we had all the "recent" "gameplay additions" when I started it.
What did I do? I punched my way through a mountain, climbed a hill at a leisurely pace, and began work on a three-story house and huge beacon because there was no map at the time, and spent like three days straight working on the house, not stopping to search for food to eat in a panic. I never even had a farm until I had a full moat connected to my basement and enough glass to build a greenhouse.

They can't get more boring than they already are.
This game went to shit after update X because I joined a year before that and got bored.
I have no idea how Minecraft maker Mojang is going to add characters to minecraft, but its sounds fun to see how they can do it.

Well, if this is any indication...
Drawing his sword, Gameknight started to run out into the open. The two spiders upon seeing him gave chase, and now the sound of a dim-witted zombie added to the voice of pursuit. Sprinting as fast as he could, Gameknight ran around trees and over hills, making sure that his angry friends were still close behind, the hounds still chasing the fox. Then he saw his prey in the distance; two of his own teammates were closing in on his position. Gameknight smiled in anticipation.
Hey Dreadlord24, Salz, I'm over here, Gameknight typed into chat, his message broadcast to everyone on the server. I need help.
We're coming, typed Dreadlord.
Good lord. What a load of shit. At least this could teach kids some grammar.

"why is a game-maker famous for creating great adventure games that rely extremely heavily on story making a game about a game that has no story"
oh sorry does that sound less ridiculous now

That wasn't targeted at the Telltale game, it was targeted all the people screaming that Minecraft is dead or that it shouldn't exist or whatever.
I have no idea at all how you could make a game similar to the Wolf Among us, the Walking Dead (Seasons 1 & 2) and Tales from the Border Lands, using minecraft for the setting... but if anyone can pull something like this off, it'd be Telltale.
"Telltale's game will feel similar in tone to Minecraft itself," said Mojang
Ah, you mean completely desolate, frustrating and increasingly dull as you repeat the same tasks over and over for hours and hours in return for very little reward? Sounds nice, can't wait to play it.

but that's pretty much every game ever.
maybe not the desolate part, but you get the point

So you admit that despite "throwing TWD gameplay on it", the games are still fun and/or interesting?
Then what the fuck is the issue?
