Hi Guys
I would love some help with part-choosing on my new PC I am going to buy at chirstmas. I won't overclock it. I will run through all the parts below:
Monitor - Not sure entirely yet what I will be using. My aim is to get this - Samsung S24C300HS and therefore the native resolution seems to be 1920*1080.
Graphics - I would like an AMD 7970 (3GB Vram). Whatever version of this fits the motherboard. THIS is the link I use. Please recommend.
Processor - I would like a 3.8ghz one. Probably: AMD FX 6-Core Black Edition. This was chosen from THIS list.
RAM - I would like 3-4 RAM slots in my motherboard. I will get 8GB to start (DDR3 ofc). I just want to be able to expand to 12 or 16 should I need to in the future. Please recommend the one that fits the MOBO.
HDD - I will get 1TB. Pointers on what exactly to get or what I need to check it has before I buy would be appreciated.
Fan - Probably TPC 812 - Please post any recommendations if you think there is a better, cheaper one for this build.
Power supply - Please post recommendations, however I have been recommended this - seasonic m12ll SS-650AM 650W - in the past. Is it good?
Case - Rosewill thor V2 (does this come with CD drives). Can you simplify to me exactly what it has (I hate reading spec logs on tech websites, they get confusing).
MOBO - this is what I need help on. If anyone is super good at collating all these things and working what motherboard they can go on, that would be great. Please also recommend the RAM that will fit on this motherboard.
Extras (just if your interested, shouldnt change anything else, I hope) - Already have speakers, will buy a headset with mic and headphones (no need to comment however, I can handle this :D), Mouse and Keyboard (sorted, kinda).
OS - Planning windows 8.1
What I will use this for - some video editing, 3D modlling. Playing graphical games - crysis, hitman absolution, Tomb Raider, Heavily modded skyrim. I will probably want to record games to (but not the highest graphics ones, just what I can). Dont tell me to up my rig to play these. I have been told that this rig plan is good enough for this. If you think I cannot do one of these on this rig, say, but dont change what you recommend the part because of this.
Country - England, London
Budget - 800-1000£ Absolute Max is 1200£, but I really dont want to spend more than 1000£
Some parts like CPU and GPU can be changed, if there is a justification, but those are the ones I would like. Dont tell me to do GTX and Intel because, basically, you prefer it, I have chosen AMD for the reason it simply has what I want, cheaper than the others.
If you have any other tips for doing this, please post.
Many, many, thanks, if anyone can help

The GPU is the next generation version of the 7970 (aka it's faster and cheaper).
AMD CPUs have very poor single core performance even for the price they ask for. A 4670k (the best gaming processor you can buy) easily fits within your budget.
There aren't any motherboards which come with three RAM slots.
Rosewill does not ship cases to the UK, so I put a good, decently priced case in this build.
The PSU has better wattage for the price.
Cases don't include optical drives, so I put one in assuming you need a DVD read/write drive.
I didn't add the monitor or OS, but there is plenty of room in the budget for it.
@flayne
Thanks for this help. So, does all this definately fit into the case? Also, I saw there are no CD things at the front. Is there meant to be some kinda cover that you pull up for the case?
Do all wires come with the case or motherboard, or do I need to buy a wire bundle?
Plus, I am prob going to try for student windows version.
Thanks again for the help however, having all this just suggested is really useful.
EDIT:
About how much noise will this make? And how hot abouts will it get (when playing high graphics games?). I dont really want over 30* (thats what I have in my head, but if thats totally stupid and unrealistic, say so, I have no idea how much it will heat up.
30c is really cold for something running near max. I would guess the GPU will sit around 60-70c and the CPU depends on how much you overclock it.
For ram I would recommend this http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/geil-memory-goc38gb1866c9dc Haswell performance better with faster ram and it is the same price, gains arn't huge in games but gaining anything for the same price seems like a good idea.

Running a really simpler build and its quiet. CPU is between 30-40c. 45-55c when playing games.
GPU is sitting at 35c can go up to 60c while in games.
Thanks for those estimates. Are those temperatures safe and all. Will it degrade the CPU and GPU faster. I kinda want it to last as long as possible. Basically, are those temps safe.
Thanks for that RAM recommendation.
Thanks for your help

While lower is obviously better, temperatures ranging between 50 and 70 are fine. Stock intel coolers for older processors often left the processor on 80~ (without any real issues). The shutoff temperature is around 100.
Basically, you shouldn't worry about degradation due to the temperature, a 212 evo will keep it low enough
