The Elder Scrolls Online second microtransaction will be armor for your horse
Oh we want pay to play so you don't have downgraded version.
but you still have to deal with the type of things that free to play has.

Fuck you zenimax.
We've come a long ways in many paths, and yet so little in others.
It's at least good to know that you don't have to buy the imperial edition to get the benefits, you can upgrade later if you want them. I tried playing the race today and although the armor styles are pretty amazing for tanks if you wanna do crafting the racial bonuses aren't that amazing
No, you don't get the bonuses of the imperial edition.
You basically get a horse that was in-game and you needed to BUY USING INGAME CURRENCY.
Basically it is a microtransaction, aka after all that talk about free to play being bad for the game, they incoporate something like that in their game.
Seriously, no matter how good this game would be, this is fucking unacceptable.
buy game
buy subscription
buy items ingame
turn around and let us fuck you
I've got a mental image of the devs as pilots pushing the yoke all the way forward and laughing manically as warning alarms start beeping.
At launch we’re going to have two items: the ability to upgrade to the Imperial Edition, and an entry level horse (Palomino colored)
Read the article past the title. I wasn't talking about the horse I was talking about the other one that explicitly states exactly what I said as fact :v:
and horses are available with in-game money
So what if horses are available in-game, they said things that they were against free to play and they add a micro transaction horse in it.
And the fact that they include race(gameplay) inside the imperial edition is retarded too.

Places where I said I approved of any of this: nowhere
I just said I think it's good you can upgrade to imperial edition, you don't have to buy the whole thing or never have it at all.
this is easily the dumbest decision a game director could make. as I've posted before, I'm casually waiting for this shit for fail so we can get on with something meaningful like fallout 4

This just made it 10 times clearer for me to not get hype over a pre-rendered CGI trailer, with the hopes the game will be ANYTHING like what was shown in the trailer.
So pretty much Pay 2 win?
15k gold is said to take a long time just for a basic horse according to the article.

Not the same people.
I don't see the problem with the horse. World of Warcraft has had this kind of microtransaction for a long, long time and it's really not that big of a deal. It's not something you use in combat, you aren't buying levels, weapons, or armor, so it's not necessarily pay to win.
That is, I'm assuming this horse has a level requirement.
Oh the legendary curse of the horse
Lol this game is going to crash and burn worse than a bad port forced to origin.

It's incredibly how many bad decisions they are making while hoping that the name of the franchise will blind some people into thinking they're ok things, in addition what's scarier is that some people are actually fucking falling for it. The dev's statements on the game have become increasingly more desperate to generate hype too. "No no subscription model is fine, itt'll help us weed out people"

They've made plenty of bad decisions but the only thing people are "falling for" is a fun game. If you seriously think you're superior for not liking a game then you're a bit of a tool, honestly
ESO is pretty cool, it's just a shame the guys in charge are obviously looking at short term revenue

A game can be fun but have completely and utterly terrible business decisions behind it. Like Call of Duty, not to start a shitstorm. But it's pretty clear that Zenimax is looking to ride the success of the Elder Scrolls series off of unwitting saps, even if the game has some qualities to it.
