Bargain bin costs for hyper-over-priced shite incredible
I almost got away with a ps4 for 80$ pretty much this same way at Walmart(price matching). Only problem was the manager, he literally made up a rule on the spot that said I couldn't do that.

with such deep savings they'll have enough left over to pay for the wall! thanks, Dell

They aren't supposed to match pricing errors, Amazon third party sellers, ect.

And the rule the manager made up was "the price difference needs to be 20$ or less for you to price match" which was completely made up, he didn't tell me anything was wrong with the ad I showed him.

While they will still honor the price matching with their own website (meaning that if you find something for $100 less on the website than what it is in the store, they'll honor it), price matching between certain items from other stores and/or websites have limitations of up to a $20 difference for price matching. It's annoying as fuck (especially when you're the one having to explain it to a customer that's already in a bad mood), but it's a rule that's been in place for a while now. And before anyone asks, yes, I do regret working there.

I thought it was made up because they didn't say anything like that on the price matching policy online. And as I mentioned before people were successful with this, and the day after I was at another walmart, I did the same thing to get the golden skinned ps3 controller thats $50 down to 15$ and that somehow worked.
That's really weird but I believe you. I thought it was made up because they didn't say anything like that on the price matching policy online.
I'll tell you now, their website's price matching policy isn't up to date. Some of the info you find online for their price matching policy either no longer applies or has been modified and only applied in-store without updating the online policy.
And as I mentioned before people were successful with this, and the day after I was at another walmart, I did the same thing to get the golden skinned ps3 controller thats $50 down to 15$ and that somehow worked.
It's a rule that's meant to be enforced in the store, but a lot of the store associates won't try to force it due to how unruly some customers can be when they don't get their way. Considering the type of customers that usually frequent Walmart, they're not exactly the most polite individuals when they're being told that something can't be sold to them for a certain price (the same argument could be made about other stores as well, but it seems to apply even more so to Walmart).
Heh, wasn't that rule instated after a bunch of people got $50 PS4s back in early 2014 with a photoshopped fake ad made explicitly for the purpose of gaming price-match?
Heh, wasn't that rule instated after a bunch of people got $50 PS4s back in early 2014 with a photoshopped fake ad made explicitly for the purpose of gaming price-match?
According to the managers when I was still working at Walmart, it was initially instated as a temporary rule back in 2013 due to a bunch of people making use of a pricing error on the website to match the prices on certain TV sets. I can't remember what models they applied to, but these TV sets were running about $450-$500 in-store and people were walking out with them for under $80 due to the pricing error. It was re-instated a year later as a permanent rule due to what you mentioned (though as I mentioned before, it's not fully enforced by most store associates).
well its kinda important to make such a rule clear which their site doesn't otherwise its false marketing
